The idea of a 'Rainbow Coloured Pencil' sounds magical, and they are fun, but not the most practical tool. This pack of good value coloured pencils have 12 rainbow pencils, each with seven shades in one. This means that the lead is split into seven colours. With the right hand you can get a great effect when a single line goes from one colour to the next and then so on.Younger kids will struggle and press down to hard, flattening out the pencil lead and getting a fat line of one or two mashed up colours. I see these as novelty pens for children to play with and not used for colouring. As a party bag filler, they make a nice toy, even if the black is a little dull, they would work if the theme were magical.

Great pencils for coloring in or creating some colorful pieces. when holding at a certain angle you can colour in a specific colour. However, if you move the pencil then it creates mixed colours pattern.

Beautiful looking pencils, I find the black wood highly attractive. They're draw/write nicely too, but they are rainbow pencils so they're more of a novelty item or for something abstract. Colours are nice and vibrant.All in all decent little pencils for kids to have a bit of fun with. Outside of that there's little use compared to dedicated colours but the quality is good enough, they look beautiful and they're pretty cheap at £7.99

These pencils are great for kids and we put some of these in our daughters travel pack when we recently went on a couple of long flights. She loves crafting and anything to do with rainbows and unicorns etc so she loves these, especially the novelty of being able to change colours by turning them.They come in a well presented box and feel good quality, no problems with easy breakage and provided loads of fun. The cost isn't too bad at £7.99 for 12 at the time of review, however the 24 pack is only 2 pounds more so I'd go for that one and they should last a long time. Recommended

My 3 year old absolutely loves these pencils, she calls them “magic pencils” as she’s drawing and enjoying watching the rainbow of colours mix together. They arrived sharpened and ready to be used which is handy as she wanted to use them right away!Once used up, they sharpen easily. Some I have found had broken inside but this could have been my daughters doing. Others have been fine though. I’d definitely recommend them though for a youngster that loves to draw and experiment with colours. It’s handy having so many colours in just one pencil. Lovely!

The only downside to angling the pencil to get one particular colour is that it will wear down quickly meaning you will either need to sharpen the pencil or switch to another angle and get another colour.
