Best for lack of pain when doing hard work
I don't know why this is so protective, but it is the best wrist brace I have when it comes to doing outdoor lawn and forest work. It takes a few extra seconds to get it cinched up, but you can work for hours with minimal pain once it is on. I use it under a work glove so the hard plastic isn't an issue with gripping. Using it without a glove isn't advised -- but you should wear work gloves anyway. I have about 5 other wrist braces. I have a TFCC tear and assume that this would also be very useful for anyone with tha recent break, sprain, arthritis or carpal tunel issues. I just wore this for 9 hours of driving a Cat 299D3 yesterday, without a glove, and completely forgot I had it on -- and no issues with pain after at night.

exolite brace
This is almost a well designed product, but having broken with 16 hours of having received it, this brace needs improvement. The slim light grey strap of plastic which goes between the thumb and index finger simply broke while I slept. Otherwise the design is light and the rest of the design works well. The velcro adjustment straps which hold the main portion of the brace tightly against the wrist flop around and sort of get in the way. There must be a simple easy disign an improvement to make these two straps less intrusive. If those two flaws are addressed, (and they would be easy changes) this brace would be perfect as it light yet otherwise strong.

Nice alternative, not perfect
This is a well-designed alternative to standard wrist braces. I like the way it is molded to the right shape. And most of it is very open and breathable. Unfortunately, the part that seems to get the most sweaty in any wrist brace is the palm, and this is no exception. One other disadvantage compared to a standard wrist brace is that it is less adjustable. Unlike one with a metal splint, you can't bend the plastic structure of this and reshape it. And the strap that goes between the thumb and index finger (the part that some reviewers report broke, shown at the top right of the picture, facing towards the viewer) I find uncomfortable because it is then and digs into my hand there. I also find the narrow part just below the thumb opening a little uncomfortable, digging in. I ordered a medium, but might return it and try a large. My wrists are thin, but my hand is fairly wide and long. The palm portion is short, and only comes halfway up my palm. I think it would be more comfortable and give me more support if it came up most of the way to my fingers.

Maybe better for a man?
I love that this brace is really open so you don't get all sweaty and gross from wearing it. The parts that are hard plastic are very supportive and the gel padding on the inside as well as the flexible rubber connector for the thumb area makes this really comfortable to wear. Also, the closures make it easy to put on and it does not stretch out. I have noticed though that as a woman, even though I have larger arms due to my size, I still have fairly small hands so this fit weird around my hand. I noticed that after wearing it for a while, the gummy adhesive that holds the gel pads to the inside of the brace started to come undone in the hand area. Not much, but enough that it was annoying. Overall, this provides good support and does not get too hot because it is open, but I think that the larger brace is better for someone with larger hands.
