Q: Does the front AND back of the door look the same?

Both sides of the door look the same.

Q: Dose it come with the white mounting back board as shown in the picture?

Sorry, header board is not included in the package.

Q: I have28" door currently, what size of barn door do I need to replace it?

You need at least 6 inches more than the 28 inch doorway. I would say you need a 34"or 36" barn door. I bought a 42 inch X84 door for a 36" doorway and it fits great with 3" inches to spare on each side. If you can't find a 34" barn door then 36" will work. You"ll have 4" inches on each side to cover. Hope this helps. I love my new barn door and it looks really beautiful in our new bedroom. Ben
