The Mummy Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. Region B, Blu Ray version. Bought for the Mrs, who had recently seen most of it on late night television. Excellent remastering, as Image upscales very well on our 4K upscaler blu ray player, with beefy sound on our 2018 model Sony 43" WF66. Condition as described, via our regular supplier in Germany, Momox UK, with German post. A genuine bargain sub £4 deal (outside the European Union/Schengen, check import fee(s) to UK, as the customs minimum fee per item may apply. We found it better 2nd time round, with fine cinematography, convincing CGI - unlike the Scorpion king in the second installment; more interesting, and better pace with replacement director Rob Cohen; and Maria Bello as Evelyn. A financial success, taking around $445 million in cinema takings & DVD, Blu Ray sales. Recommended.

Good plot , great action , worthy watching !

I'm not fond of Jet Li playing a baddie, but he does play it well. This is excellent, good special effects. It is funny, Liam Cunningham and John Hannah are both entertaining and endearing at the same time, it's a decent attempt and not a bad movie, if Rachel Weisz was in it, then it would have been great.

Not watched yet but have seen them before on tv just wanted to have them handy to watch anytime. Will enjoy with a glass of wine

Stephen Sommers is not the best directors at work in hollywood, he isn't even one of the best but with the first two Mummy films he delivered thrilling action spectacles with some gripping set pieces and decent special effects. The first two boasted some levels of character development, great acting, coherent plots and plenty of thrills. However, it seems that with the departure of Sommers in the directors role (he is here assigned as a producer) the franchise has taken a bit of a nose dive. Rob Cohen helms this third film in the franchise and whilst he doesn;t do a terrible job he doesn't do a very good job either. His handling of the action, specifically the fight scenes between Jet Li and Brendan Fraser, Jet Li and Michelle Yeoh, are somewhat disjointed and blink and you'll miss it - which is unfortunate because the martial arts could have made this movie a very worthy succesor to its two predecessors.The cast also suffers a bit of a blow, though not as much as the direction. Fraser returns in a somewhat weaker role than before, and Rachael Weisz is unfortunately absent being replaced by Maria Bello who, whilst beautiful and talented, can't match Weisz's acting skills and her undeniable beauty. Arnold Vosoloo is not the eponymous mummy here and the legend is changed to be a chinese warlord who awakens to bring about the end of the world. Jet Li takes the role of the mummy here, and whilst his martial arts skills are brilliant he is vastly underused and at times looks like he doesn't want to be there. Another dissapointment is John Hannah's role that has been reduced to nothing more than comic relief, and because he has been saddled with some cheesy one liners and poor jokes he is underused and at times rather pointless.As for the special effects, they have improved upon the Mummy and The Mummy Returns, but even then they appear too glossy and perfect, not gritty or realistic enough and the yeti's were not a good choice of creature to include.Desite the problems i have listed above, this film is very entertaining. There is plenty of action and adventure, far off locations and some interesting sets. The final battle between a zombie army and terracota warriors is thrilling and a great climax.See this if you enjoyed the first two but don't expect it to be as good as them. This 1 disc edition, for those interested, is not a good choice if you are looking for special features, they are extremelt poor. The steelbook edition is the choice for those wanting featurettes and the like and the luxury box set is even better if you're a die hard fan. If you're only interested in the film, get this.

I really enjoyed the plot of the film and special effects. Very enjoyable and watched it with my granddaughter who also enjoyed it.

its very hard to say about this film, as it was just so different to the mummy 1 and 2 , in 1 and 2 it was all about the same mummy really. imhotep. but in this its a bit of a culture shock the fact where in a new country and its about a new mummy. a completely different story in everyway! so after you get over the major shock, it really is a wonderfull film. its a good length too so your not left wishing there was more. it doesnt require a sequal, they realy did do this film and finish it well not leaving you wondering what was going to happen next. from dead armys of thousands, to magic yeti's, avalanches and a pool of eternal youth this film really is brilliant.BUT Eve is a different women in this, which to you mummy fans like myself i found heartbreaking it just isnt the same without her. so it takes a few watches to be ok with it. its probably why its set in a different country also, because having a new eve in egypt would have deffinately been to much to handle as even this takes a while.yet with all that i would still recommend this film because brilliant even with new characters ...

Great third movie, has all the same adventure elements

Action galore 👏 This movie 🎥 is one giant roller coaster 🎢 - It’s now a family affair with fighting mummies. Jet Li is awesome as the Dragon Emperor. The Snow Yetis☃️ were great. John Hannah just keeps you laughing 😆 so🫵get your popcorn 🍿 ready and settle down for a great night 👍👍🤗

This is a magnificent movie. The visuals are phenominal and the special features are as good as it gets. Quite frankly, even though it was great to be able to buy this movie so cheaply, it is amazing that it is thus. Being on top of all the movies of the last ten years and having seen the first to the last of the festival of special effects all the way up to Avatar and Alice in Wonderland and some of the last pathetic attempts - The Hurt Locker - this Mummy movie has far more going for it and is far better than most of the films that are "state of the art." Perhaps it takes watching the movies on the spectacular Panasonic 65" 3-D HDTV or being quite a bit less jaded than the average movie-viewer - and perhaps old enough to really appreciate the momumental achievements of 1080P. This movie has just as good a plot as any of the newer movies and is far more enjoyable and far less depressing than most of the "reality" stuff of the "flatulence" oriented comiedies that are poluting the screens and reducing normal body functions to the major structure of a comtemporary movie. 10 stars for this one!

The Mummy became my "go-to" movie after the first time I saw it. I loved the campy horror-comedy aspect of it and the script was face paced and well written. I don't have a tv subscription, so I turn on a movie when I'm doing housework or to play in the background while I'm cooking or knitting, or whatever. I've turned on the first two movies so many times I've lost count. I watched this movie one time and one time only.In the second movie, we're introduced to Alex, who is an adorable ten year old with the cutest British accent and the expected mischievous streak. In this movie, he's a grown man with an American accent and a lot of resentment towards his parents. Rick and Evie have an argument over who caused the rift; "You were cold and ignored him" "you smothered him", etc. Totally unnecessary plot line in my opinion.John Hannah was perfect as Jonathan and had the funniest lines in the first two movies, but he's more of an after thought this time around. He wasn't the only underused actor, and with this much star power the script should have been so much better.I give it three stars because I thought the acting was good even though the script sucked (seriously - Yeti??) and I couldn't agree with the two star "I didn't like it" rating. I found it to be an average movie with above-average potential and expected so much more from this franchise. Watch the first two, but skip this one.

As a fan of the first two Mummy movies as well as the take off the "Scorpion King" there is a sense of let down but the 3rd in the Mummy series is not all that bad. However, I would have preferred the movie to be shot in the area of the first two Mummy's but archeologists do travel from one ancient site to another. To me, what has caused the most disappointments, is the extreme relocation from dessert to snow and ice. If there were not two prior Mummy films and the 3rd in the series was the first Mummy, it would have been much more accepted. Squeals always suffer the dogma of not being as good as its predecessor and the 3rd Mummy movie is no exception. So, if you are able to dismiss the 3rd Mummy from the first two films, you will enjoy the movie. Also, the Tomb of the Dragon Emperor's special affects are as good as the original Mummy flicks. I do not know where the theory that the special affects were poor could be rooted. The special affects, for their geographical location, were excellent. Best advice: Rent it and then watch it. If you enjoy the film, then purchase it and add it to your Mummy collection.
