I loved this book so much! I started reading it because it was a recommendation from #booktok. This book showcases how Sofia's tragic experience of losing her parents and she exacts retribution on their killer. Theo never expected her to leave him; he is in anguish when she leaves him for 7 years. The author does a great job of describing his anguish and how disheartened he is when she leaves him. He is determined to get her back, no matter the consequences. I love Theo falls back in love with Sofia; in fact, he never fell out of love with her. As a reader, I appreciated Sofia's determination to avenge her parents. She is heartbroken and she channels her anger on exacting revenge on their killer, whom she marries to destroy him. I love love love the forbidden romance between Theo and Sofia (it's one of my favorite tropes!). It's super spicy and I love the spicy epilogues at the end of the book plus a super happy ending!This is a book that I constantly come back to time and again because I love their portrayals of the characters. So excited for the series to be completed!

Omfg yes!!!I devoured this book 🤭 I love a good feisty fmc and boy did seraya delievered 🤭 also I’m in my bodyguard era and I loving it 🤭 Sofia is such a bad ass,smart and very strong 🥹 she doesn’t take any thing from no one and she ain’t sorry after everything she been thru she is also such a good person she has such a beautiful heart 😭 Theo is so sweet and boy is that man down bad for Sofia and I don’t blame him because same 🤭😂 He is so caring and very caring to Sofia and it’s what she deserves 😭 omg I love them both so much 💖 the plot and everything in this book was perfection I was hooked and I couldn’t put it down 🥵 the spice is also so good 🥵 I can’t wait for what’s to come with this series 💖It’s my first time reading for this author and it won’t be the last I’m officially a fan of hers 😍Tropes:🖤: second chance💍:bodyguard🖤: revenge💍: “who did this to you”4.5⭐️

I’m obsessed with this plot. My favorite little twist was when Theo left her at the end and she had to go beg him for forgiveness. So niche.

One thing I love about her is that despite everything she went through, she’s so inherently kind and caring. Reading about her and the kids she mentors was so adorable. Don’t even get me started on Theo😭 The bar is set so freaking high now. The fact that he watched YouTube videos for the correct way to wash and care for her curls???? BYE. I’m done. I’ve folded. I’m instantly in love. I had such a good time reading this and I can’t wait for book 2!! This book hit so many of my favorite tropes out of the park. Forced proximity, bodyguard, second chance, boy obsessed, secret tattoo? SIGN ME UP!!!This was the perfect book to binge read while I laid out on the 4th. Sofia was an incredibly strong FMC and Theo was the perfect mix of protective and angsty. While the revenge plot at the center of the story wasn't the strongest, Sofia and Theo's relationship made up for it. Oh how I love a man who YEARNS!!!!This was a very impressive debut from SeRaya and I am excited to see what this author does next!

Overall and enjoyable second chance romance.I personally would have liked it to be darker and more of what the in between years were like for each character.I think overall the revenge plot was good but could have been elaborated on the details in the finale.The reconnection was heartwarming and the love story had me wanting to read more about this couple!

I really enjoyed the story of this book. I was hoping for a littttlleee bit more to the story of her parents death but the “I’ve been waiting 7 years for you” was to die for and it’s so very spicy. I liked how dominate he was with her and reading those scenes were 🔥 I am excited for the next one!!

wow. WOW. I am beyond mind BLOWN! You’re telling me this is a debut novel? As in very first??? I’m shocked. This book hooked me from the beginning. The tension between Sophia and her Bodyguard was *chefs kiss* and kept you sucked in. And the cabin scenes… 🥵 also, I am a SUCKER for a cute nickname in different languages! Gets me every time… Mi Alma. Screaming over hereThis book follow Theo and Sophia. Sophia is on a path of revenge. Seeking solace in her parents death she finds herself married to a man who she know won’t be much longer. Lost in her path of revenge she never expected someone she knew in her past life to show up. The plot, the revenge, and the tension were so gripping and intense that I could not believe that this was Seraya's debut novel.Sofia's journey to revenge and her dedication to avenging her parents' death was so entertaining to follow, keeping me on the edge of my seat the whole time. It was refreshing to see a MENA fmc in a dark romance as well.Theo, Theo, Theo. This man knows he's fine at this point. I'm going to need him to be my bodyguard because if this is how he protects his clients, I'm going to need his services. Also, the nicknames, I can't with how cute it was!!The tension was so hot that I was sweating from just reading it. Honestly, an immediate 5/5 star read and can't wait to see more from SeRaya!!

Honestly, this story is so good, it has everything, he’s had me at the edge of my seat for most of the book. The connection between Sofia and Theo is amazing, true love at its best. I definitely recommend it 100%.

This may have been one of the best books I have read in such a long time. So much love for this book and I am sharing this to all my friends.
