I plant my arugula in this and it works like a charm. Mind the note that says to put pebbles on the bottom. It works better with them. Small bag at home depot for 5 bucks.

Edit, one year later: overall this is still a good bed. My only complaint is that the filling tube is a pain due to its narrowness and opening, and doesn’t accurately reflect the fill level of the reservoir, so I usually either just top water or fill from the overflow outlet on the side. Overall though it’s still a handy bed for lettuces and herbs by the door to the house.Original: I got my garden bed all set up today, and am really looking forward to seeing how it does this year. The cloche top is great, and will be so helpful with extending the season where I am. It’s a nice size to have some smaller herbs or a mesclun lettuce mix.My only gripe with this so far is the filling tube for the self-watering reservoir has a little too shallow of an entrance area, so it overflows if you use a hose on normal flow, and the legs don’t easily all fit into the slots all the way. But for being plastic it’s pretty sturdy, and as I said, the cloche top is great. I just wish they had a slightly larger version as well. A couple of inches taller and a few inches wider would be fantastic.

I was do excited about the self watering feature but the Water Level Indicator is missing. So disappointed.

Instructions in pdf or on the description are not at all sensible. Not sure if dirt goes on top of base or??? Disappointed..

I have to admit that I thought there was more to this product when I saw "self watering". It does seem to be working so this is not a complaint with the product. It is a plastic raised garden bed with vented cover. A platform inside keeps the garden media up off the inside bottom of the bed. That area is filled with water and monitored by the float gauge/fill tube that sticks up above the "dirt". Seeds are sprouting now so it definitely works.

Don't think they would withstand the direct sun in our backyard all the time. Good size, nice lid included and easy to attach the legs. It would work for a more moderate climate with less sun.Had to return. Thanks for refund.

Absolutely brilliant product and will be buying more. Wouldn't mind paying an extra pound or two for it to include a fixed clip to prevent the lid from blowing off.Highly recommend this product
