The toiletries bag is canvas and has stood up to constant use. Even with daily use it remains sturdy, keeps its shape and repels any water. The zippers work good. The extra compartment on the bottom is a good addition to allow for wet/dry separation if needed. The patches are Velcro and can be left on or off
