A Classic in the MM Hockey Genre
This will have some spoilers. For the reviews that put Burk down as a character whose only personality trait is being gay, I suspect they didn’t actually read the book. One of the main thing about Burk is his desire to take care of people, and obviously we see a lot of this acted out toward Shaw. Burk does little things all the time to show he cares: he stops and tied Shaw’s loose shoelaces, he buys a big pillow so Shaw will be comfortable in his bed, he buys Shaw dinners and acknowledges all of the non-monetary things Shaw does around the house, he takes up donations from their friends so Shaw can fly home for his brother’s surgery, he takes the initiative to get Pride patches made and dispersed, he gets Blackhawks tickets so they can see an NHL game together, he offers to give up the NHL to move to California with Shaw, and during their professional careers he is actively trying to take a massive pay cut in order to be closer to Shaw. Hell, one of the most romantic things he ever says to Shaw is in response to the trauma Shaw experienced when his brother got sick very young and his family ended up losing their house, leaving them homeless for a while—Burk says, “‘I’d give you a home you’d never have to lose.’” He’s also very emotionally intelligent. Burk is always writing down things Shaw says that are important to him, and he keeps it with his other keepsakes in his room. To say that his only trait is being gay is offensive—that reader is reducing Burk to his gayness and willfully ignoring all the wonderful characterization the author put into him. I absolutely loved Burk. He was so sweet and gentle and kind, and because of his dad, he was often unsure of himself. Shaw helped him be stronger. They were perfect for each other. I cannot wait to see them again in future books. I’ve read Let’s Do This cover to cover no less than 8 times, and I’m sure that number will continue to rise until Loren Leigh’s next installment <3Note: The jumps in time at the end of the book were there to show how long it was taking for Burk and Shaw to finally get on the same time. The emphasis wasn’t on their separate careers, but on the journey it was taking them to be teammates again. Moreover, the author didn’t just jump from love declarations to career eras. We saw that Shaw and Burk loved each other long before they said it out loud—that was so apparent. The declarations were parallel with a turning point in their lives and futures; at a very crucial time, they both revealed how they wanted to go forward. There was no reason to linger because the only “conflict” left to explore was their time apart and the years it took to be back on the ice together. So many great parts of this book are lost on bad readers.

Sweet but steamy romance!
4.5 ⭐- hockey- roomies/besties to lovers- sexual awakening- low angst- sweet but steamyAfter a less than conspicuous package shows up for his roomie and best friend Burk, Shaw starts seeing his best friend in another light and offers a proposition that would benefit them both, but soon the lines between being best friends and something more start to blur.I am an absolute sucker for friends to lovers romances, and Shaw and Burk's story had me grinning, blushing, and full on swooning. They were just so freaking cute! The openness and easy exploration of their sexualities was so beautifully done, and I loved how accepting their friends/teammates were of them as well.

Let's Not
This is a highly graphic pornographic book with a few lines of a novel thrown in every so often. Don't let anyone tell you different. If that's what you want, then this book is for you! If you want a good story that had some good sex thrown in, look elsewhere!

Beautiful story with incredible heat 10/10
I was not prepared for just how sweet and beautiful this story is. The internal dialogue of these 2 figuring out their feelings is EVERYTHING! But then there is inferno of them exploring each other that truly defies description. Read This Today🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Flawed but fun and steamy
Spoiler review! I give this book 3 out of 5 hockey pucks! And 8 out of 10 on the 🌶️ level! Great first entry in Loren Leigh’s planned Indigo Falls University Hockey series! But it is set in her Indigo Falls College universe. (Some characters from that other series show up at a party in this novel). Overall it was your typical athlete M/M romance. Best friends/roommates/teammates to lovers tropes. Chapters alternate in first person pov between the two main characters (Burk and Shaw). I’m excited for future entries in this series and the author ends this novel declaring that Burk and Shaw will return. Considering both leave college at the end of this book for careers in the NHL, I assume she is giving them their own series. Ultimately the biggest issues I had with this first entry were plot and character development. Burk was just not interesting enough to warrant pov chapters. He was void of a personality and his family drama was too corny. It is not often that I cringe while reading, but cringe I did in a lot of his chapters, especially with his dialogue. He is also the type of character whose sole personality trait is just being gay. Shaw on the other hand was the complete opposite. Amazingly written, endearing, and handled his family drama realistically. Shaw felt real and three dimensional. The biggest flaw in this book was the ending. The first 90% takes place over the course of about 6 weeks. Then once the two declare their love the book jumps forward six months for a chapter. Then it jumps forward seven months the chapter after that. Then it jumps forward a year for the chapter following that, and then it jumps four years after that chapter! A six year time jump was insane and it skipped over an engagement, marriage, and huge career changes. Not sure what the author was thinking here, but maybe in the spin-off series she plans on going back and exploring those years in detail. Overall if you need a quick steamy MM romance. Give this a shot!

uplifting
One of the best mm romance books I have ever read. Sometimes you just don't need a compicated plot to keep you invested in the characters.

my my my!
This one is a little tricky tbh! First of all, let me get this out of the way: it is STEAMY! these boys are hot!!Now, second of all, i LOVED the beginning: it went straight to the point right from the start haha It made me laugh so much! Shaw is hilarious, i really loved his perceptive on things. Burkie is a litte more on the shy side, but he was just so adorable the whole time still. I loved their chemistry together. BUT, and i never thought i'd say this, maybe it was a little TOO steamy! haha don't get me wrong, i love a good smut, but i thought that sometimes it was taking away from their general romantic chemistry.Other than that, it was really good; i've actually read it two times so...
