Not to my Hedgehogs Taste
I bought this as I was looking for an alternative to the dry pellets I had been feeding to our resident hedgehog. So far I have used two packs splitting each pack into two servings. Every time I have had to throw away the food as it was untouched the following morning and was attracting flies. My hedgehog house is constantly monitored with a wildlife camera so I know the hedgehog visited on these nights but never touched the food. I have now gone back to the dry pellets and the bowl is empty every morning. Perhaps I have a fussy animal so I will keep on trying the food just in case.

AVOID - VERY NASTY SMELL REPELS HEDGEHOGS
Nasty smelling food that our hedgehogs will not touch... ever! And even the magpies who come along at dawn to finish up will not touch it - We have put out 10 of these so-called Meaty Feast from Spike and not one has got past the nose test... they run away from it! We have over 40 visitations every night and have found that all hedgehogs like Pedigree Puppy Food best of all (of course! We pay £3.50 for 6 tins and put out 2-3 tins a night). The growing Baby Hedgehogs love the tinned Meaty Brambles Hedgehog Food... A few of the darker variety of Hedgehog will always choose the Dry Leeway Woodwork Hedgehog Food which is only £4.60 from Amazon, but ensure you have a bowl of water right next to it, because they always have a long drink before, during & after eating dry food - I avoid the Brambles Dry Hedgehog Food & Beaphar Dry Hedgehog Food, because it is more expensive and not as popular. Goodness knows what they have put in this Spikes Hedgehog Food, but I would definitely not recommend it at all - we are living in a RSPB Conservation area surrounded by many different species of wildlife and none have eaten this food - in fact we have ended up throwing away the contents of every single untouched packet - and now have about 7 unopened left - Anyone want them for free?

Good but expensive
Not quite sure how to review ...Yes Mr Hog likes it. He prefers moist food to dry and I am sure this is great stuff for hedgehogs.Mine prefers it if you break it up a bit with a fork for example .But, as long as you avoid fish, and supplement with say meal worms, dog food is fine and by my calculations up to ten times less expensive

they desperately need food like this to feed the hundreds of sick and injured ...
This was purchased for Andrew's Hedgehog Hospital in North Lincs, they desperately need food like this to feed the hundreds of sick and injured hedgehogs they rescue every year so if you would like to help look them up on Facebook and you will find out how.

Hedgehogs won't eat this :-(
Sorry, but I have yet to meet a hedgehog that will eat this. I recommend the Spike's semi-moist hedgehog food (they love it!) and am going to give the Spike's dry food a try (though our local hedgies have also not eaten other brands' dry food...), but this beautifully packaged meaty meal is not for them. Don't buy it - hedgies are surprisingly fussy and it will be left to rot.

Hedgehogs polish this off nightly!
My hedhehogs liked this product but so do cats and Herring Guls.I put this out undercover at dusk to stop Gulls stealing it.I fed this with some dry crunchy hedgehog food and a few dried meslworms. One night I had attracted 3 headgehogs!I feed them throughout the year now, and they don't leave any, ALL GONE in the morning! It is vital to provide Hedgehogs with fresh water nightly in a shallow dish or bowl.

Well......
Well I bought this for wild hogs in my garden, I have put this out for three days in a row and the hedgehogs haven't tried it, not onceMy cat on the other hand wants to eat it and rats they seem to love it, not a fan of rats though so don't want to be encouraging that, and the cat can jog on she has her own food!!Just not the hedgehogs. The hedgehogs do like the crunchy biscuit version though, maybe they are just snobs? Also am a little confused as it says contains fishAll the info I have read about feeding hedgehogs say no fish?

An excellent product for those who love their Hogs
The food comes in container much like cat food (and it turns out that's who was eating it initially!) it smells a bit strong-so don't put the empty tray in your kitchen bin. I'd recommend adding a bit of dry food with it also as it's quite wet. It's made for hedgehogs, so I assume it's got all they need for their diet and nothing else.
