I have had this Bokashi system for about 1.5 years. I love it!1) It allows me to conveniently dispose of my collected food waste scraps indoors.2) A year's worth of using the run off as a fertilizer has my garden looking really great!3) Two potential negative issues are:A) Potential odor. As the waste vegetable material decomposes there is an unpleasant odor in the bucket HOWEVER, keeping the top securely closed completely takes care of this issue. I keep my Bokashi system in my laundry room indoors right next to the kitchen.B) The top CAN be hard to remove. It just takes a little experimentation to learn how to remove the top. The tightness of the closure is necessary in order to keep the odor under control (see A).I heartily recommend this system to anyone who wants to keep food waste scraps out of the garbage stream, especially those who like to garden with natural products.

Last year I purchased the Bokashi starter kit from Biorfe. I selected this brand from the field partially because it seemed to have everything needed to get started, and partially because of its appearance. The design of the buckets is very appealing - nice enough to leave on our porch in sight of the front door to our house. Having two buckets allows me to fill up one and let it sit for two weeks while I start working on filling the second one. When I “feed” the buckets with new compost from my kitchen scraps, there is zero unpleasant smell. I love that I can harvest the liquids from the buckets to fertilize my vegetable garden plants. The garden is doing great this year and I’m guessing the Bokashi fluids have a lot to do with their health. I planted some vegetables over the site where I buried the composts last year and plan to continue to do this into the future. Bottom line: I’m glad I purchased this composter and feel it was well worth the investment.

Great materials but bottom should be level to the faucet inorder for the liquid to flow without tilting the bucket. I'm 69 y/o and I struggle to get the liquid out.

It came with a very nice instruction. Easy to follow and understand. The pusher is nice, too. The only downside is the location of spigot. It is above the floor. THe instruction says to empty is every other day or so to prevent getting rotten. But, in order to drain, I would need to tilt the body. And also not sure if I can drain completely given the design. With the other brand, I once broke the spigot and the drain could not be done. The outcome was: rotten smelly mass. So, I had to threw away the whole thing including the body. Out of this experience, I decided to return this. I may not be able to remove the juice every other day. Otherwise, I think this is a nice product.

I'm new to bokashi composting. After doing a lot of research, I came across the brand Biorfe and decided to give it a try. I've been using it for 2 weeks. I have read the instruction manual that comes with the Bokashi bin and I apply it to the letter. To start with, I throw away my daily leftovers. I add the bokashi bran on it and press firmly. I bought my first liquid fertilizer and diluted it according to the measurements in the book. It's too early to see the effect for now, but I'm looking forward to the results. I was worried about the smell but I did not notice any offensive odor. It already says that if you apply what is written in the book, there will be no odor. I haven't thrown any meat so far, but since two buckets came, I want to try the other one and I'm very excited. As for the product, it was packaged very well and had everything I needed in it. I loved the green apron that came with the product, and my wife loved it too. In general, I am very satisfied. I am very happy to protect nature and give it the right way what we get from it. My kids love it, and they collect their waste throw it in the bucket, and then watch the liquid flow from the faucet. I'll be back in a few months to share my results.

First order arrived and one of the tops was broken. I received the replacement and it came without an exterior Amazon box. Frustrating to me because they require the return to be in an additional box, but they don't practice this methodology. Bins are cheap and topscwill Crack and break very quickly. I am waiting for a better alternative. Unable to return replacement because it is not broken, but it is NOT worth your time or money.
