Nice surveillance option
My in-laws were having a problem with someone tampering with their pool pump and were looking for an inexpensive and easy way to monitor it. This camera fit the bill. It's not exactly secretive, it's easy to spot. But maybe that's a good thing and is a deterent if it can be easily spotted. It was easy to mount up under the corner of their roof. The hard part of installation was getting power to the area since the camera has to be plugged in and it doesn't exactly have a super long cord. I had to install a power outlet in their attic and run the power cable into the attic to plug it in. If you're not handy, don't attempt this. Wifi connected just fine but can sometimes be a bit spotty since their router is on the opposite side of the house. Not any fault of the camera. Might add a wifi extender to see if that helps. Picture and control was pretty good through the app. I wouldn't say this works as well as my Ring cameras but for the price, it's definitely not bad. It has continued to function well in the rain and heat. Hopefully it lasts a long time.

Be Patient Setting this Up.
Set up is a little frustrating but worth it in the end. Just the fact that you can view this on a PC is great for my purposes. I am still struggling with the cell phone app. The Eye4 App works very well on my computer.Although my pictures don't show it, the main thing I look for in a security camera is a good picture. This checks that box. The web page description states "resolution of 2560x1440". I'm not sure my PC monitor supports that but it is certainly a great picture despite my cell phone pics I included in this review. The second thing I look for in a security camera is Wi-Fi connectivity. I can't imagine running a cable to an outdoor location for any camera. I am fortunate to have fiber optic internet, so my signal reaches the end of my property and all the way to my friend's house one block over. At least that is what shows up on his Wi-Fi search. I have a fenced in backyard and a shed towards the very back of the property. I can't see my dog when he goes potty behind the shed. This will allow me to keep tabs on him when he is out of my line of vision. Plus, of course, the normal security of having a camera on your property. The pan, tilt and zoom functions are a little laggy. It seems to be that way with all the Wi-Fi security cameras I own. I think it is because of the Wi-Fi. I had a wired system at my place of work that never experienced any lag. It really isn't a big deal for my home use.I have not tested or will I use the audio functions. I do not have a need for them. It might be fun to talk to my dog when he is messing around behind the shed, but he might not see it as fun. Okay - I might try it once. I certainly wouldn't use it if I caught a bad guy back there either. Why would I alert him to my presence. I don't intend to listen to the birds or overhear any neighbors. I spoke to my neighbor about the camera before installing it on my shed to assure him I would not be peeking over the fence to watch him. Something to consider if you have outdoor cameras. People expect and deserve privacy. I'm not aware of any laws - just trying to be neighborly.I also have a Ring camera doorbell that I despise. Such a clunky, awkward device. It barely functions as a doorbell. Notifications are sporadically sent, and the thing doesn't always ring. Isn't that its main function?!? Considering the price of the Ring vs. this neat little camera, it would be an easy decision to go with this. I even considered, and still might, replacing my Ring doorbell with this. Or get another one in addition to this one to replace the Ring doorbell. I need the phone App to work first. The camera seems well built and sturdy. The setup was a little frustrating. I think the password was the fail point. I had to change it a few times to get it to work. I can't speak for the waterproof feature of this camera. We have not had rain since I installed it. Night vision is great, but usually is with these cameras. Overall - great little camera and a great value.

Great view in the day
This camera by far has been the hardest to hook up, but it’s a great view during the day but not so well at night. The app wasn’t the easiest to figure out either.

App is frustratingly useless
I got this hoping it would be give us peace of mind when we are not at home. The QR codes to scan was frustrating to me. I prefer all that information on a printed book not having to read it on my phone. But to me ease of installation goes out window if the app does not work and the app is frustratingly useless. It was easy to install and appears to be very durable. The price was excellent and I was hoping it would be easy to use. But the app makes it impossible. Would not get again.

Fighting SW & App for last 6 hrs worse than 1st edition
Updated: updated SW & reinstalled App = now constant issues. Tried multiple uninstall/ reinstall of both App & computer SW. Horrible!Use Eye4 app! Huge leap above previous VStar cams! I've been using VStar cams for years & this by far the best performance, with the most options for price. The police & neighbors have actually come to me on multiple occasions to get video evidence. Recorded daughter's car being hit while parked in front of our house. Love being able to view & control all cameras real time using app when away - vacation, holidays, at work, ect...

Easy enough and good quality
Kinda impressed with how good this is! The app is a little funky to get setup but then you're good to go.

Great camera. Wish I could turn off the stupid lights easier at night tho. Lol
This camera has pretty great qualities in many areas. Night vision and overall resolution is great, low latency, loud speaker , quite movement, and has a great wifi reception range. The app is easy to use but get an SD card to put in it forget paying for the cloud and I can't easily turn off the light at night when it detects ppl. Sometimes it is on no matter what and sometimes it goes to infrared but maybe they fix that in an update. Until then if used I door's this will be excellent if for outdoors a lighted area is preferable. If the night vision works for you then you will have a great experience especially for the price.

Although the cameras seem pretty good, they seem to have issues
quick to set up, quite relible, SD card for record and wifi or lan. some excellent features.only critisim is lack of information, the presumption that they just work (not always the case) and the TFT record is only 640 x 360 @ 10 fps while streaming FHD with no control other that ultra short file, short file and long file ????WTF seems pretty stupid really. Also not sure wich is the best app eye4 or K-cam pro both work but? As it was for a half price special i give it 4 at full price 2 as it is point less not storing full HD on the device. it seems the TFT recording is pretty low res also the cameras are unstable on wireless and also seem to have issues with sd cards of the 5 i bought 1 seems to want to talk all the time about connecting to the TF card, one struggles to stay connected and the other 3 have had small issues like maintaing tracking and point to point monitoring and other advertised benifits. these cameras really need to be rethought or scrapped.
