More a Minimalist Than Barefoot Shoe
I’ve had Trail Gloves in the past. Those were barefoot. This current iteration has noticeably less ground feel than prior Trains Gloves and, for me, that’s not such a bad thing. I did not care for the feel of every crack, rock or stick on the trail or road being felt through the sole of the shoe. These temper that barefoot feel just enough - I feel enough, but not too much. Not much (if any) difference in the outsole. Upper fits as I expected, somewhat snug but not bad.Sizing and fit were as expected. We’ll see how well they last. If they hold up well, I’ll be buying another pair.

Merrell
Very nice quality shoe. Have been very impressed so far after almost 2 months of wearing them 5 to 6 days a week. Only complaint is the arch in them is almost to much. Probably want buy again, but should last the rest of the year before the wear out.

Too supportive to be considered barefoot...
Overall this is a good hiking shoe but I would not recommend them for running. The arch was indeed prominent. At the end of my run in them, I felt pain in my arches, which is not my normal experience with barefoot shoes. In my opinion, if you have a stiff and thick sole that prevents the foot from moving as it should, you should put some cushion on it to pamper the foot. Otherwise, the sole should be flexible and thin while still offering some protection, so that the foot can do its job in absorbing impact. Otherwise, all the impact is redirected to the joints. This was my experience with these shoes. On the positive side, I did not feel anything under my feet, which is kind of why I wanted to try them. On the other hand, I think this, the arch support, and the stiff sole disqualify it as a 'barefoot' shoe. I would return them if I could but I already chipped the tread after 12 miles of running. Several other reviews have said the same about the tread. The toe spring was quite nice, however, and helped me get over steep hills and effortlessly maintain speed. My normal shoe size is US 10.5M to 11M and I ordered 10 and10.5 with these and the 10.5 fit perfectly. I had US 10M on the trail glove 5s, which fit well. My feet are definitely on the narrow side.

Fits like a glove - quite literally
Having been wearing zero drop, minimalist shoes for 10+ years, I’ve tried almost al of them. This shoe fits tight, really tight. It takes some getting used to. If you have high arches, this is your hiking shoe. Maybe your everything shoe. For someone with average arches, it may be a little uncomfortable at first. Like cushion? Hope not. The sole is very firm, almost hard. This is great for hiking around rocks and roots. I am bummed that the sole ripped after only 3 weeks. Overall a good shoe, but not minimal.

Great fit, cozy, and manufactured well.
6'2" Male, Size 11I bought these on sale to replace some old Moabs I have had for about a year and a half. These fit much better than I expected. They are minimalistic but not bare bones, they still have some support and are comfortable to wear all day. I work in a warehouse and I wanted something that I could wear all day but be able to go on nature walks or small hikes, these shoes seem to fit that perfectly.

Good shoe
It is a bit narrow, but once you break them in they feel good.

Less "barefoot" than older models
I have an old pair of Trail Gloves (maybe gen 2). This version is much narrower, squeezes my toes, and has a big lump of arch support. Definitely not what I was looking for. Perhaps this would be a good transition shoe for someone that currently wears more typical restrictive/archy shoes. For someone who already wears barefoot shoes, these are a change in the wrong direction.

Très bonne chaussures de courses en minimaliste
Très bonne chaussuresLes moins : La largeur de pieds est un peu trop petit.

Decent shoes but wont suite people with no arch
TIghter fitting than the vapour glove so id size up compared to those as the trail glove is very narrow. The arch is huge in these too so they probably wouldnt suite people with flatter feet

Excellent product
Love these, not 100% a bare foot shoe. But they give good connection with the ground whilst supporting the arch. Which is exactly what I was looking for. Well constructed and usual quality I expect from Merrell. Should get plenty of mileage out of these.

Most comfortable shoe I ever bought
Important to know I've pretty much always wore skate shoes so take that into consideration but the moment I slipped these on I fully understood why they call it the glove. These are so comfy I want to wear em to bed. I've tried other running shoes like Adidas and Nike and these fit .5 larger. So if you're a 10 get a 9.5.

Light weight and comfy
Great for walking anywhere. Wide for box and zero drop. So good I bought a second pair in khaki.
