Bastards: A Memoir

READ this book! (From a mama through adoption).
Dear strangers, I will tell you what I told my friends: READ THIS BOOK. Especially read this book if you like memoirs, or are drawn to stories about adoption, or families, or childhood.I noticed that some other reviews mentioned that it must be hard for adoptive parents to read this book. I humbly disagree (somewhat)... I am a mom through adoption, and I loved this book. Is it sad? At times, yes. Is it hard to read? No - but it’s going to make you feel some (as my kids call them) “big feelings.”This book is important in so many ways. Read it. Have Kleenex handy.

I was recommended to read this book
I was recommended to read this book, and it's absolutely amazing. Very well written. Mary Anna King is one of the best writers I have seen in a very long time. She is able to share her life and allows readers to vividly experience her moments of pain and triumph. Best book I had read all year.

No one competing for this life story
A look into one girl's life of missing siblings and chaotic parents. True injustices are rectified by the end of this eye opening read. A must read for those who need to appreciate their own upbringing.
