The Lion and the Bird Hardcover – Illustrated, 1 Oct. 2015

This is a very beautiful book. The story is about Lonliness and friendship and is deeply moving and the drawings are wonderful. It is written for children however I bought for myself. I look forward to reading to my granddaughter when she is is a little older but I couldn't part from it. Quality is a rare commodity these days, this is that. Treat yourself.

This is a highly original and most appealing book for children. The story is carried forward with a minimum of words and delightfully quirky and stylish illustrations. An engaging sentiment will take hold of young readers, demonstrating the value of friendship without the heavy-footed moralising of so many politically correct books. It has great charm and is in all ways a quality production.

This book has a wonderful calm pace. The pictures are beautiful with intricate pencil details in sparse scenes that hold and tell the story perfectly. It is a gentle story taking you through the seasons and teaching about the joy of caring and appreciating that rewards are not always instant.

This is an absolutely beautiful book! The story is universal and everyone can recognize them self in it. I will use the story in the class I teach, for children need to learn that friendship comes to you in many different ways. I highly recommend this book for everyone!

Beautifully illustrated and touching story

I bought this book for my grandson, but I love it so much I am going to have to buy another copy for myself. The pictures are so lovely they make me happy and sad in quite a profound way.

This is a lovely book. Beautifully illustrated it tells a simple story of friendship and loss. I have bought this book a couple of times for niece's and nephew's birthday. On both occasions it became a favourite book.

Lovely story and good for discussing the emotions with the kids. But it doesn't have a massive re-reading draw with my two.
