A bit slow but does the job
My first impression of this product was the plastic used felt a bit flimsy and cheap, but after getting it properly set up and turning the fan on, I immediately knew it was worth the money.I really feel the heat. I also live in an upstairs flat so all the heat rises into my flat. I only had it on level 1 but this fan was powerful enough to cool me down in the 30° heat and meant I could actually get some sleep.I only have 2 negatives:1. It is quite noisy, even on level 1.2. It takes forever to fill with water. With the model I had previously, you could just pull the tray out and fill it with the water. With this model, you open the plastic lid on the top and pour the water in, but you can only pour so much at a time otherwise it will overflow. In the end, I poured water then did a task, topped up a bit more water and did another task. Took 10 minutes in total and that was only 3 litres! If you have the patience though, and don't mind the noise then this product is brilliant. Miles more effective than my previous one, which was twice the price!

Evaporative Air Cooler - several drawbacks
The instructions say this is Model BW-102Y.It claims a 5.5L tank, so when full the water alone will weigh nearly 4 kg. It will not be easy to move around on some floors, and there is no central carry handle. It claims "Timing function 1-7h", but the control panel only offers "1H/2H/4H". This is important because "The cold air function of this machine is forbidden to use without water." There is no mention of an automatic cut-off, so perhaps it will overheat if the water runs out and become a fire risk. There are no batteries provided and I have not used the remote control; it has no visible display. The "ice crystals" are some unidentified powder marked "DO NOT EAT", to which you have to add water, then "freeze" in a "refrigerator". The caps on the ice crystal boxes look very hard to undo. You are warned to clean the air inlet every two weeks, which will be hard to do without damaging the "wet curtain paper".There are warnings about smelly water and bacteria in the summer, but no instructions about cleaning or emptying the tank. In fact, "It is strictly forbidden to flush the machine with water". There is a small plug in the base, not referred to, which may allow draining."This machine has a strong humidification effect." This may not be what you want.Fitting the rather small wheels would probably make it impossible to repack in the original box.The above comments are before using the equipment in any way.ADDENDUM:I have just seen for the first time a more detailed Product Description, much further down the product page, hidden below a lot of Amazon adverts for other products. None of this Product Description is in the instruction book. Here they call this a Portable Air Conditioner. But later they say it is "not a conventional air conditioner, but an air cooler".The web page says that the top and bottom tanks can be filled separately; ice can be placed in the bottom tank; cleaning is easy; and there is a removable dust filter (it doesn't say where). As if to answer my safety criticism above, we now have "If the water level is below the minimum level, the machine will automatically shut down to prevent damage and ensure your safety." But an inch further down we have "Continuous use of cooling mode for more than 24 hours without adding water will damage the machine!!!" Haven't they just said that can't happen?Accessing the lower tank on my unit would mean removing about 5 screws. Hardly "elegant and simple" as they claim.I now think that the model I received in June 2023 must be an old version, not matching the product description, even though that still refers to Model BW-102Y.They mention that "its power is not enough to cool an entire room", but elsewhere they still say "It's the perfect cooling solution for any space".

Great
It cools down the room with little noise. Ticked the box.

Good initially but issues crop up
Good air cooler but instructions of use and maintenance unclear. Ours started to smell mouldy in a few days only for us to browse online to understand that this was being caused by build up within the machine. The machine does not come apart so no way to clean up the insides except that you keep draining water. Clearer information on managing and maintaining the air cooler would def help…!

Not great, not terrible
It is better than a regular fan (I think) as it blows somewhat colder air than the one in the room. Don't expect miracles. No batteries included for the remote.

Makes a heatwave ALMOST tolerable.
Pleasing design, compact and portable. It only helps you cool a little if it is close to you and it does NOT reduce the temperature!

Compact
I bought this because l wanted some really cold air blowing on me, it takes alot of water and can put the frozen bottles in the top aswell for the extra cold. Its pretty cold, but hotter days its not really strong enough fan blowing out but ok for normal warm days. Depends what you want but l think l would buy a proper small aircon unit next timeBut light and very moveable on castors .
