"She's Got The Power!" is the fourth overview of Power Pop and its associated sub-genres by Ace's subsidiary Big Beat label. The standard of the series has so far been consistently high and I'm pleased to say that "She's Got The Power!" does not let the standard slip. This, like its well-received predecessor "Girls Go Power Pop!", focuses on female fronted bands and I'm just amazed that this compilation manages to turn up so many truly excellent bands that I was not even aware of! There is not a single misstep from the opening bliss of Blondie's classic "Hanging On The Telephone" to the closing revival-era "Unforgiven" from The Go-Go's - and sandwiched in between there's a succession of absolute bangers that explode with energy and excitement - rocking like great power pop always should. This is an irresistible compilation that is knockout from beginning to end.
