I have a back problem and need to walk for exercise so thought I would have a go at Nordic Walking. The poles are comfortable to walk with and lovely and light. My only slightly negative comment is that unless the clamps are tightened extremely tightly then the poles shorten when walking for a while. Just needs a strong hand or pair of pliers to tighten. Other than that, great poles. Good price.

These poles are really lightweight and come with plenty of extras. The telescopic locking mechanisms work well and seem relatively well engineered with alloy cam levers, steel pins and plastic bodies, time will tell how durable they are. The strap release mechanisms are all plastic and feel a bit fragile compared to other poles I've used (Leki and Excel), I think these will probably be the first component to fail. In use the poles give quite a bit of vibration compared to both rigid and telescopic poles from other brands (all of which cost a lot more than Steinwood poles and were not 100% carbon constuction). If these poles last, then they will really good value.Watch this space!

My husband and I are really thrilled with our Nordic walking poles. We are lifelong walkers and have walked in many countries in Europe besides here at home. However, my husband is now 92 years old and we thought our walking days were over until a friend mentioned Nordic walking poles. We have now had three lessons with a qualified instructor and my husband is back walking again. We may not be doing the Coast to Coast again but we are pleased to be doing short walks in the country again.

I ordered these to replace my lost - the same model, Steinhood poles. They are very easy to adjust and although not very packable in a suitcase/backpack, the carry bag helps to put it over the shoulder.

These poles were bought specifically for Nordic walking and not for trekking and the difference is obvious. Sturdier poles with much more comfortable hand grips make them ideal for serious walking rather than for gentle strolls.

As a novice at Nordic walking, wanted an appropriate set of poles that would be suitable and travel easily. These are just right and good value.
