I was looking for a personal journal which, to me, had a vintage aesthetic and quality paper that would embrace the use of a fountain pen. Moreover, I didn’t want a too generic picture or design on the cover and was essentially looking for something more ‘classy’ or, if possible, pertinent to me. After much looking, I happened across this and took a chance.Journal is a nice size; the leather cover is Matt black and features an almost medieval style embossed design; it is vey tactile. The journal / pages are well bound and do level out to 180 degrees for ease of writing. Furthermore, the ribbon bookmark is a great addition.The paper has a quality, almost retro, antique vibe to it and takes pen & ink very well.Whilst it can be viewed as expensive, in relative terms viewed against similar items, I believe it’s worth it and what price quality. This is an item that will be personal and meaningful to me, so happy to pay for this standard of journal. Will buy again when this one has been completed.

I like this journal, its softback and easy to write in. As its softback, it's great for leaving in your bag or taking with yon on travels. The pages are nice, smooth and easy to write in. However, I do think its a little over priced. I wasn't paying attention to the price when I purchased (I was trying to find softcover and wasn't getting much luck) and probably wouldn't have done if I was comparing prices while looking at the available options. It's nice but unless the price drops, nearly £18 is a bit much. I'll buy again but needs to be alot cheaper.

I ordered this for myself - as a gift to use for writing my gratitude journal. It's prefect for one page a day. I love the design of the cover.

It has a great feel to it, the cover, the pages. I like it.I don't write in it every day, but is great as a diary.Also like how the cover design gives it a sense of individuality and mystery. I mean, if you saw it in a pile of books, you would immediately know that it should not be a normal book. It would make you curious and want to take a look inside, no? Doesn't that fit with the concept of a diary that you don't want others to read, but still maintain a sense of allure?So, what I am trying to say is that I like it.

Just arrived, first impression is that it's no way worth £16.99It doesn't smell like leather, in fact it has no smell whatsoever.It is a soft cover but if you bend it, it creases the cardboard backing on the inside of the cover which causes it to crease on the outside of the cover.The pages seem ok and the "leather" cover has a nice pattern on it but no way it's worth £16.99, maybe half that amount would be fair.If you want something that looks antique or authentic but a leather wrap around journal.I'll find a use for this as it's easier than sending it back.
