This little latch provides extra peace-of-mind in our offices, located downtown in a busy city. It was easy to install and is easy to use. The extra long screws make it feel more secure. I plan to order more for our building within the next 6 months.

This unit is just like the ones you will find in some of the nicer hotels.Features:- All metal construction, simple and solid.- Easy flip open and closed. There is a weak spring to help the "flap" part stay in the open or closed position. I wish this was a little stronger spring, but it does the job.- Easy to see if lock is engaged or stowed. Just a quick look for the flap tells you the state.- Includes strong 3-inch and 2-inch stainless steel screws (three of each). I think these are #10 as they are thicker than the screws I usually use. Very, very stout. I used the 3 inch, of course, for maximum security.- Position at any height. You can position this high to keep out of children's reach, or low so that they can reach. You can also easily install more than one.- The security bar allows you to open the door slightly if you want. We use this feature in conjunction with one of those alarms that sound if the door is opened. This way, if an intruder can bust through the deadbolt, the alarm sounds AND they still can't get in!Installation Notes:- This installs beside the door on the door frame instead of inside the door frame where the door opens. This means that do not have to chisel any of the frame to fit the "foot." It does mean, however, that the moulding around your door may be a concern. If the moulding angles away from the door, you'll need a shim to keep the lock correctly angled.- As mentioned above, this comes with beefy screws. The screws are not self-drilling so you'll need to drill holes for installation. Use the 3-inch for maximum security if you can install them.Overall:This security lock is an easy to install extra layer to any door security system. Well made, solid, and easy to use.

The door lock arrived lightning fast. It was simple to install and I feel it's very sturdy. I feel safer with it, it's definitely an added layer of protection. Be careful when you un-lock it, I can see it pinching your fingers if you're not careful or paying attention.

You can easily leave your front door secure while traveling by using an another exit through the garage.One of the standout features of this product is its remarkable toughness. Once securely nailed into the stud, it provides a barrier that feels impenetrable. The sturdy materials used give me confidence by letting me know that my door is fortified against intruders. This is a decent lock. Just be sure to install it correctly by lining it up properly. Definitely use the longest screws if you can & cut into any trim if necessary. These are what you'll find in many hotel rooms to keep people with a key out as they have saved me several times when my room was given away with me in it. It happens. Slightly awkward but they work & they look nice. Great for home use if you have kids or just added protection for your home or wherever your staying. These work & better safe then sorry regardless of where your staying. Fairly easy to install & put them at whatever height needed & combine with other things depending on your situation, high crime area, travel, kids, etc. Keep your kids from letting that stranger in, etc. Easy to use, nice to have.

If anyone tried to kick the door in, it seems like that's the place they would kick. Being a steel door, and with this steel lock now allowing the door to budge at that point, it feels safe. I used the longer screws.Installation was easy. I like doing this kind of stuff, so it was fun for me.Above the deadbolt, higher up, I put a similar lock that will allow the door to open somewhat. This is good if someone knocks on the door and I want to open it slightly but still be safe.It's not cheap, but this is a great quality lock that makes me feel a little safer.Hope this was helpful.

nope. it doesn't set up against anything so there is a 3 in gap between the lock and the door, not going to use.

This lock is made out of heavy duty metal and feels quite sturdy even before it is put on. Having this installed on the door frame gives an additional sense of security. My family has the perfect feeling of security with this installed. This is also placed high enough on the door to keep our grandchildren from accidentally opening the door. Very easy to install and the price is incredible. Such a feeling of security at a low price. This has made us feel more secure in our home. Very easy to tell if it is engaged and easy to engage. I am very glad I got this.
