Not for puppies unless they're trained
I have six (yes six) German shepherd's ranging between 80 and 95 lbs. they respect the boundary and it works as advertised. Here's a problem I think most of the negative comments come from. If your dog is not trained, this won't work because it can be torn by their nails. If your dog is not trained to respect boundaries, they can run right through this because even with it being screwed in or taped on, the eye hook is elastic and will pop off. This is a well made sturdy product and performs exactly as I expected it to but this is not for all dogs. It will not work for puppies (they are still learning boundaries) or untrained adult dogs of any size.Opening and closing is simple. You may want to position your hooks in different directions to keep them from slipping off when you open. For example, my bottom hooks are sideways facing opposite each other. One of my top hooks, the one I use to open and close is facing up whereas the opposite hook is sideways. This keeps them from coming off when I go in the kitchen. The product comes with extra sticky backs because you will probably need them. I did because I had to play around with the direction of the hooks. Once you pull the hook off, it doesn't stick right anymore. For the cost, this is peace of mind. It keeps the dogs from laying around in the kitchen. The value of this item is worth the small cost of it. They don't counter surf but the hair omg. I don't cook often but I have to clean everything in the kitchen before I cook. This saves a lot of work. It's super light weight and easy to use.

Doesn't hold up, Damages Wall and Company won't respond to messages
I had high hopes for this gate but it hasn't worked out. I have had to purchase 3 of them in total because the first one kept breaking. I have tried everything. I have screwed in the hooks instead of using the adhesive and at least half have still come out. They say if you have damage to your wall to contact them and they will give you a wall repair kit. I wasn't even trying too get the wall repair kit just a replacement for the hook that broke and or the sticky piece. I'll repair the wall myself. But no response. Tried again 2 months later after another broke, nope no response. Have to reorder just for the one piece. Sad. There is a possibility of a good proact here but need to make a few teaks and have some customer service.

Works just okay
Command strips are strong. I put one in the wrong spot and had to remove it. Ripped the paint off the cabinet in doing so. I bought it to keep my 1 year old out of the kitchen and the walkway to the kitchen is fairly large so I had to purchase the 30x70 one. Like I said it works OKAY cause he can lift it in the center almost enough to crawl through.

Screen for gate
This is a great product and works well. It is very difficult to take the sticky hooks off after you are finished using the screen in a certain area. Easy to put up.

Three Dog Night Approved
Spent several months trying to quell the craziness of three dogs getting into mischief on my second floor. There was no way that a mesh curtain was going to withstand the nonsense of a mini poodle, yellow lab, and Burnese Mountain pup BUT I was pleasantly surprised that not a one of them tried to hop, skip, or jump this device. It’s sturdy, reliable, practical, and virtually hidden from the eye.

Returned
I have a 15 lb Pomeranian Chihuahua mix and I got this for my stairway because I have a stray cat that I let in and take care of and he doesn't get along with her for some reason he's just ornery and spoiled. However he took the barrel and down the stairs when he seen the cat inside and slipped right under this gate and got out and I mean I was just shocked and I had it hooked into the wall and everything and he got right under it cuz I placed it at the bottom of my stairs and he somehow got to going so I can imagine a big dog would probably bust it right down it's not sturdy at all it's not for any dogs over 5 pounds I'd say and it's definitely not for stairs because the bottom step they can slip right under it the way it has to be set up in my house anyway so I returned it.

It’s exactly what I expected
We recently adopted a second cat and wanted to take our time introducing her to our resident cat. I bought two of these mesh gates and put one above the other to ensure they wouldn’t be able to jump over. The gates have been great so far for letting the cats see each other during meal times without being able to touch each other. It’s also nice because the gates use adhesive hooks that we can easily take off when we no longer need the gates. We rent our home, so having something that’s not permanent was a must.My only caution is that if a child or animal were to put a lot of weight/force against the gates, there’s a chance they won’t be able to hold. Thankfully, our cats haven’t tried getting through the gates yet.

Hooks don't stick properly, doesn't stop dogs.
I tried this to keep my smaller dogs from going in the bathroom since they tend to pee on the floor in there, but I can't just keep the door shut as the catbox is in there. I wanted something that the cat can hop over, but the dogs can't get past.Well, the hooks don't stay stuck to the wall properly, so that's already an issue. Besides that, unless you have it stretched so taut that the hooks get pulled right off the wall (where I have it, screwing it into the wall isn't an option) there are huge gaps between the wall and the sides that let them just slip right through. Maybe for blocking a bigger dog that doesn't actually test the barrier in any way, this would work, but for stopping anything that actually puts any pressure on it or can fit through the enormous gaps between the walls and the sides? Nope. Going to have to try and find a different solution.
