A perfectly organized well informative work.
With the technological advancements and everything available just at the drop of a hat , one would believe that things have been better and moving with a progressive intent. But with all these gadgets entering into our lives and life altering its landscape at a rapid pace , stress has become a constant companion. And as they say one only fears something that he isn't aware of , it becomes frustrating at times when we don't know the underlying cause of the looming pessimism. In such situations, books like these act as an elixir. The author of this work is a renowned psychiatrist. So nothing can be better than knowing the secrets of living a fulfilling life directly from the horse's mouth. She has skillfully penned down her expert advices in well structured form. Like a dogged doctor, she has first of all tried to unearth the underlying cause of such recurrent situations where a person feels gloomy and depressed most of the times and only after a proper synopsis has offered words of wisdom .What I really liked about the book is her specific focussed pin pointed approach. General public is usually of the opinion that every depression is similar in nature and hence they treat it with "One Size Fits All" kind of theory. Whereas author has rightfully explained the different types and how to approach each of them practically. The best thing about such guides is they not only help you trudge on the path of recovery (if you have been a victim yourself) but also enlighten you with pieces of information that you never knew existed. Notwithstanding all these praises , I would still suggest people to consult a trained professional physically if you need medical attention and not rely solely on such books. They can act as a great support but not a wholesome solution .

An eye opener and must read for one and all!
This book is not just another self-help book; it's transformative to another level. The questionnaires, checklists, tables and note sheets are as if like a consultation with a professional, wherein you are getting insight into your symptoms, severity, as well as solutions to the problem. It took me a while to read (I bought it on the launch at Title Waves on 6th May 2023) and read it slowly and steadily everyday. I feel I want to read it over and over again so that I can completely absorb it and I sincerely advise other readers to do the same. It is a life changing book!

Anxiety and depression disorders are now exceedingly common in the twenty-first century. These problems affect a single individual in a group of ten. And since we are all human beings and are made up of emotions and feelings, I believe that is very normal. And while it's normal to feel down and depressed occasionally, it's a serious issue if the individual needs treatment but chooses to avoid getting it.The perfect book to assist you overcome your sadness and anxiety through step-by-step exercises is "Why Do I Feel So Sad?: Your Pathway to healing depression" by psychiatrist Dr. Shefali Batra. Dr Shefali Batra shows how depression has various causes and many faces. Dr Batra wants to reach out to as many people as she can with her book to raise awareness about those chronic blues that, if left untreated, could have tragic results. She provides useful advice and resources in this book for readers who are seeking healing. She demonstrates the significance of the fight against depression by offering tried-and-true, theory-based practices from contemporary research that can be utilised independently or in conjunction with medication. The book explored the different causes of depression, including biological factors, childhood experiences, and negative thought patterns. Dr Batra then discusses the symptoms of depression, both physical and emotional, and provides helpful advice on how to cope with them. She also mentors people by teaching them cognitive behaviour techniques to combat depression if it has already struck or prevent it altogether. These techniques include identifying twists in their thinking, overcoming numbing pessimism, and taking an active role in their emotional wellness. She also provides them with tools like checklists and worksheets.According to me, this book by Dr Bhatra is highly recommended because it explains how you can enhance your mental health using all of these methods that have been scientifically established.
