Q: What is the type of sweetener used?

I was considering this as an alternative to the energy drink I currently use (Rockstar), but the report that they use an artificial sweetener, specifically sucralose, makes this also a hard pass for me. Sucralose, aspartame, saccharine, Acesulfame K, Advantame, and Neotame all cause significant issues with the GI system (mine, at least) and some also cause severe headaches, not to mention the nasty aftertaste they all have (without any exceptions). "Natural" substitutes for glucose/sucrose also seem to have problems for me -- at least the ones I have tried, such as stevia and the gamut of sugar alcohols (e.g., xylitol, erythritol, and other -tols). I've yet to find monk fruit sweeteners in products like this, although, from what I've read, this type of product seems to be suited for monk fruit sweeteners. Maybe I've just not been looking in the right place(s). Or maybe it is just cheaper to use the artificial sweeteners.

I agree, I want to use this so bad but... red 40 and sucralose?!? So much wasted potential

Sodium is not on the list of ingredients

Q: Is this live Advocoare's Spark?

The ingredients are almost the same but unfortunately this product uses red 40 and blue 1. I was so excited to try this product because it is cheaper than spark, would totally switch if they would use red beet instead for color.
