Five stars!
Have two. Keep toes toasty. Work wonderfully with my Achilles tendon cast. Made in USA and veteran -owned. Cold water wash, no heat or air dry. I hope you never need to use one of these but if you do don’t hesitate to order. A heart-warming note is packed with each cover. They really are “friends you can lean on”.

but it turned out to be the perfect size. The drawstring/cord is elastic and sized just ...
After I broke my ankle three weeks ago, I emerged with a huge clublike splint wrapped around it with my toes sticking out. With winter coming on, I wondered if my toes would need more protection from the cold. This little "foot hoodie," as I call it, was just the ticket. It's simple - just some black synthetic fleece material and an elastic drawstring - but it does the job perfectly. At first I thought it might be too small, but it turned out to be the perfect size. The drawstring/cord is elastic and sized just right to grip the midfoot area firmly. In my case, that measured approximately 16 inches in circumference, but the cover has enough leftover stretch to accommodate at least another 3 to 4 inches of circumference, probably even more. (The fleece material has some stretch to it too.) And if it needed to be smaller, you could just squeeze the little plastic ball and pull the drawstring tighter. I'm no ankle authority, but I think this thing would fit just about any foot/ankle cast, brace or splint. The fleece material is a nice medium weight - thick enough to keep my toes warm for at least 5–10 minutes outside in freezing temperatures while crutching or knee-walker-ing to my car, but not so thick that my toes roast at room temperature or greater. One nice touch is that the toe area is a "box" construction. It has two seams, one above the toe and one below, instead of just one pinched seam. (Think of the difference between a paper grocery bag with a flat bottom and a paper bag that's just folded at the bottom.) So it give a little extra vertical roominess at the toes instead of having a seam right across the tip of the toes. The seams also appear to have been done with a serger, so I don't expect this thing to suddenly fall apart.I've been using mine for three weeks. It's undergone numerous washings, yet it still looks brand new. It stays put, keeps my toes warm and protected, looks good (many people notice it and comment on it) and seems built to last. For me, it's been just perfect. One last comment: I'm a DIY kind of person and initially thought, Why should I pay 15 bucks for maybe a quarter's worth of fleece and another 50 cents' worth of elastic and a plastic cinch thingy? I figured I could make it myself, as could just about anyone with basic sewing skills. All true enough. But besides assembling the components, the people at this company have obviously taken the time to make careful measurements and test the fit - the little things that ensure you end up with a product that just works. I also appreciate that it's made in the USA. So I recommend this product without hesitation.

Wish I would’ve bought this sooner
Got my cast on December 15 and have been dealing with cold toes ever since. I kept trying large socks since I figured they would do the same thing. Boy was I wrong. This slips nicely over the end of my cast and keeps my toes toasty without squishing them down. It looks tidy as well. Would absolutely buy again. I wouldn’t suggest having a leg cast without this, especially in winter!

Perfect!
My husband had surgery on his Achilles and he has to be in a splint for 6 weeks. This is perfect for covering up his toes. It keeps them warm when he has to go out for doctor appointments and he says it is extremely comfortable and easy to get on.

Perfect fit!
My husband broke his foot and needed something to cover the toe area while he wore a boot. This worked perfectly!

Better than a Sock, Well-made and Functional
Much better than a sock. Made with fleece and a drawstring, solidly built and great quality. Works well with my knee scooter, my crutches and of course just sitting around. Warm. Recommended highly.

Great addition when toes poking out of a cast need covering
After foot surgery I had to where a boot with toes exposed. These half socks were perfect when the weather was chilly or I was going somewhere that was not considered jean attire. The sock was well made, had a drawstring to keep it on and was shaped to look like a shoe at a glance. This was a real surprise to find. Easy to launder with no shrinkage, fading or fraying.
