Impressive!
Musically improved drastically from onboard Realtek. Sub-bass improvement alone worth the cost. However, the nuances and details now being retrieved from the tracks are next level and steal the show...My audio chain Headphone: Asrock X570 Phantom Gaming X usb - TempoTec March 3 optical out - Chord Mojo2 - Audio GD NFB28.My audio chain Speaker: Asrock X570 Phantom Gaming X usb - TempoTec March 3 optical out - Chord Mojo2 - 2x (mono) SMSL A300 - Kef Q350

Neat DAC, good connectivity, little difference
The construction of this unit feels very good. The housing is anodized aluminum. The front panel is a glossy plastic that almost looks like glass. The rear panel is also anodized aluminum. The LCD screen is clear and not too bright, though I think they could've picked a better font. The knob has clear, tactile sections and a clear, tactile press. There are several connection options here. The Bluetooth connection is easy to set up. Connecting over USB works fine on Windows 10 and Windows 11, but if you are on Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 you will need to download a driver. You press the 'Mode' button on the front to switch between USB mode and Bluetooth mode. For my testing, I elected to use the USB connection to avoid any latency or interference from Bluetooth's wireless transmission.I connected a pair of Sennheiser HD6XX headphones to this unit. I compared the sound I got from this DAC with the sound I got from my computer's 3.5mm output on the front of the case. This is a gaming computer with a motherboard that claims to have a Realtek 7.1 audio chip and "premium capacitors", though I don't know how effective that hardware really is.I found the sound to be nearly identical with and without the DAC. There was a very minuscule amount of clarity and warmth when using the DAC, though I had to flip back and forth between them several times to notice it.When I enabled the 'Gain' option the difference became more apparent. There was added presence and warmth that the motherboard's audio output didn't offer. I would say that it improved the sound for metal, but wasn't as great for rap.The 'Bass' option on this unit does more harm than good to the sound. Once enabled the music sounded washed out and distant, like you were hearing your neighbor's music through a wall. For me, I couldn't justify the $130 price tag for the audio difference I got. Maybe I just don't know how to use this unit to its full capabilities, but I couldn't tell you if the unit was being used or not in my day-to-day listening. It's great looking unit that feels well built, and it has some nice features, but it didn't work magic.

Finest high quality audio device
Wow! This must be one of the finest high quality audio devices I have seen in ages! No skimping on materials, only the best peripheral connectors are used in this headset amplifier.I love the gold connectors on both the front and rear of the device which ensures a solid crackle-free connection throughout the life of the device. The old volume control is now a micro-processor controlled gain control which provides precision steps from 0 - 100.Even though it is touted as a headphone amplifier it can also drive active speakers via its L - R RCA outputs, the coax output or the optical output. (An active speaker is one that has the power amplifier built-in.)The device accepts Digital signals via a USB-C cable or via a Blue Tooth antenna of which there are two, one that covers a 30 ft radius and another slightly longer one which increases that range to 50 ft. The device also uses a USB-C connector for its power cable.Operation is a cinch: after all connections are made a simple press and hold the rotary until the small display turns on. The device will either be in BT mode (BlueTooth) or in USB mode. Unless a USB cable is connected to the unit you will see the word 'Pause' on the display. That means no connection is made. It can also mean "bad cable." I am very pleased with the Bass and Gain boost functions where Gain acts more like a high filter than as a signal boost.I am very impressed that this device supports a 4.4 mm connection. These jacks are still as rare as hen's teeth but are becoming more common lately in the audiophile world and smart phones. Briefly, they are used in professional setups where high quality XLR connectors are too large and 4.4 mm connectors are used in their place for balanced stereo audio signals and in high quality mobile telephony. The unit comes complete with a manual, two USB-A to USB-C cables, two antennae and a power plug. This is an awesome device and highly recommended!

Good DA C with good connections
I've been using this on my main computer at home and it's working perfectly I haven't connected via usbc to the main computer with my headphones connected directly to the DAC it does come with two antennas for the Bluetooth a small one and a large one. I personally have not used the Bluetooth much but that's not why I bought it but I keep the large antenna on it just to improve range for when I do need to use it in Bluetooth Mode. The only complaint I have is that the mode button is so close to the gain button that it's easy to switch the mode on accident when alls you meant to do was turn the gain on or off. Not a huge thing but it does get annoying once in a while. The sound is great and I have no complaints about that on any level.
