Nat "King" Cole - All Time Greatest Hits

If you like Nat King Cole (excellent singer and pianist), you’ll like this selection of standards. Probably would rate this at an intermediate to advanced level. I do have an issue with a lot of music books. The pages don’t remain open when turned over. On a thick book like this, the problem remains.

This was a nice collection of hits by the fantastic Nat King Cole. The piano arrangements are excellent and are accompanied by the melody line for singers.

The selection is lovely and the arrangements are good for an intermediate player.

It's a decent book of more traditional Jazz classics but missing a couple of songs made hits by Nat King Cole.

From the songs in this songbook I would choose only 20 or so asreally beautiful/good songs. Not all the songs included were reallybig success in Cole's history. But the price is good, so you can find various tunes that makes your money spending worthy.

This is a nice collection of tunes from the Great American Songbook, but about the only "hit" by Nat King Cole is Nature Boy. Missing are Mona Lisa (!), Unforgettable (!!!), Straighten Up and Fly Right, I Love You For Sentimental Reasons, Those Lazy Hazy Crazy Days of Summer, and Route 66. You do get Ramblin' Rose, Orange Colored Sky, Pretend, Send For Me, Looking Back, Somewhere Along the Way, and If I May - all of which are on one of his greatest hits albums. It's a nice collection of songs, but all of these are in other books. Unlike some reviewers, I find all of the songs readable, but they really are copied from other sheet music, so there's no consistent style. I can't think of a compelling reason to buy this book, now that I know it's missing most of the hits I associate with Nat King Cole.

Anything original sheet music, original transcript or note -for-note is what I'm looking for. I'm trying to keep our musical history alive. Too much has gone out of print!

A lot of his most famous songs missing. One reviewer listed them. But my main complaint is the lousy quality photocopying. And in about one third of the songs, the guitar chords are miniscule.....too hard to read. I had to write them in myself. Surely this is something the publisher could have fixed before releasing this book. BTW publisher was NOT Hal Leonard.
