Spreading awareness through some pretty awesome ladies!
Being a part of this project is a complete honor and a blessing. So many brave women surviving and previving have come together to reach out and share their stories, the good and the bad. Cancer is awful and quite frightening, it's nice to know that you aren't alone. All of our lives have been touched by breast and ovarian cancer, some on a very up close and personal level and others through loved ones. The message here is clear, you don't have to walk through the fire alone. Many groups are out there and willing to love and support one another through it all. I am grateful for my BRCA mutation, had I not been served this fate, I would have never had gained some lifelong friends across the globe! I have had the pleasure of standing along side some of these women through their journeys and hope to stand alongside many more. Thank you to all who support this cause through purchasing this book, we hope it some way it can help save lives.

Great Book
Since I am BRCA2, this was a very good book of stories written by women who are BRCA1 and 2 survivors and previvors. My younger sister and I are both BRCA2, me a survivor. Our younger brother is not going to test as he has no children, but has all the history. Our older sister tested negative as did her 38 year old daughter who passed away August 21, 2012 from Stage IV breast cancer. She fought a hard 4 year battle. My mom passed in May 1980 of breast cancer so we think the gene came from her. Great aunt and her son, maternal side, passed from pancreatic cancer and a cousin from kidney cancer. My son had testicular cancer but generic counselor says it is not related to BRCA2 gene. I have 2 sons who are more susceptible to male breast cancer but won't test. My granddaughter has both grandmothers with breast cancer as well as a great grandmother. She is almost 8 and I pray they find a cure!(less)

I love it!
I am proud to consider myself a Pink Moon Lovely and even prouder to be one of the previvors who had the opportunity to share my story in this book.Far from a book detailing only troubles and sorrow of people pre-destined by their genetic makeup to develop cancer, the stories in this book speak of hope, love and the endearing triumph of the human spirit.Special thanks to all involved who made this book happen, and of course, many, many thanks to Nicki Boscia Durlester, who took one of millions of groups on Facebook, and turned it into a special havan where sisters can gather to love and support one another. If you wish to read fifty inspiring and moving, empowering stories of survival, please do yourself a favor and purchase this book.

Gives insight to the vast range of breast and ovarian cancer experiences
If you are newly diagnosed -- this book will connect you with many women who understand, you will not feel so alone, and you will learn how others dealt with treatment decisions. You'll find that everyone does it their way and I believe this book will help you find your way.If you have a friend or loved one with a diagnoses -- this will give you great insight into what they are going through! I wish everyone I knew had read this!!If you're neither of the above -- this is still an amazingly informative book and easy to read in this format of several short chapters as these women give the world a glimpse into their personal stories in navigating the specifics of their individual diagnosis, treatment decisions, and lifestyle changes and outlooks.

warm personal stories of hope
I love the personal stories from all the different ladies in the book. While each journey differs, there is also a common thread throughout the stories... importance of hope, supporting others, speaking up and raising awareness. All ladies in the book and who are active on The Pink Moon want to share experiences, support others and raise awareness of BRCA genetic mutations and HBOC (hereditary breast and ovarian cancer). Information on this topic can help save lives. Thank you to all who shared their most personal journeys. Whether you have cancer, have the genetic mutation, know or love someone who does, this book will open your eyes to the love, grace and hope that exists and inspire you to do more.

Great read to help your breast cancer knowledge! Knowledge is Power!
Love the Pink Moon Lovelies AND this book! Read the poignant stories of women from all parts of the globe. They all share one common link- cancer. Learn more about the gene mutation that severely predisposes one to breast (and other) cancers, as well as women without the mutation. These are stories of strong, funny, smart, women who hit a lousy curve in the road. Buy the book and join the group if you are going through breast cancer or are carrying the gene mutation. We are a very encouraging, helpful group of people who know and understand!!

Your courage, strength, and determination has no limits. Knowledge is power. Thank you for empowering me through your stories, to understand the true meaning of bravery. A Book With The Potential To Save Lives!
I am honoured to have my story included in this book. I am a member of the Facebook group 'Beyond The Pink Moon'. I also run a Breast Cancer Support Group on Facebook. In spite of this, I have learnt many new things, by reading this book. This is a book with great potential to save lives by empowering women, and men, with information. It is also a book that will move you to tears, fill you with admiration, and open your eyes to a whole other world - Cancerland. No one visits Cancerland willingly but on arrival they discover that the natives are friendly, supportive, encouraging, and courageous; they are called Survivors! Then there are the people who do all they can to avoid visiting Cancerland, they too are friendly, supportive, encouraging, and courageous; they are called Previvors. In some ways, the Previvors are even more courageous because upon discovering that they carry the BRCA1 and/or the BRCA2 gene many of them make the decision, willing, to undergo extensive surgeries in an attempt to protect themselves against the threat of entering Cancerland. Finally there are those who have lived for a time in Cancerland but have moved on to a better place, where there is no pain, no suffering and no tears. One of them is named May and her last message to 'The Pink Moon Lovelies' is published in this amazing book. These women's stories are truly empowering, they tell it like it is! They are stories that need to be heard.

A must-read book
I too am a member of the "Pink Moon" Facebook group, and my family have been visited far too often by breast cancer and ovarian cancer. This book follows the real life stories of many strong and brave women whose lives have been touched by this hideous disease. Along with narratives from genetically diagnosed high-risk women who have been able to "dodge the bullet" by undergoing preventative mastectomies and/or oopherectomies.

Late delivery
On sunday evening you advertised that if an order for this book was nade within 19 hours the book would be delivered by Tuesday 3rd September. I needed the book by this date as I was travelling from lancaster to nottingham to see my sister who has been diagnosed with grade 3 breast cancer and I wanted to take her a gift. It has only just arrived today! So i never had in in time to take for her which left me feeling pretty useless and I now have to pay for postage and packaging for a heavy book to be delivered to nottingham. Abit annoyed with the service and false advertising ! If i had have known I would have gone to a book shop. I wont be ordering from amazon again.
