Takes a bit of practice and perseverance (TMI warning)
After a couple of months, I can say that this product is really good, even though I at first didn't get on with it well. I decided to purchase this particular model because a friend of mine got one and seemed happy enough with it as I recently started swimming regularly and I didn't want to either go to the pool and worry about my period or to put a tampon without being sure my period would start, as it's a bit irregular. My experience so far: I looked at the size guide on the site and went for this size and, at first, I thought I made a mistake; I felt really uncomfortable and had to remove it. As I was already crampy, I didn't fancy another try right away. I thought I might have got too big a size, but the smaller one I got leaked a bit, so I decided to give it another try.As suggested in another review, I used the punch down folding method, but I inserted the cup with the longer side up, rather than down like I did before. That made a difference in ease of insertion. I also made sure to push it in a bit further and took it out and re-inserted it when it felt uncomfortable. I managed to get it right at the second try and there was no leakage at all! I kept checking every time I went to the loo. I did find that taking it out was a bit uncomfortable at first, so I developed the habit of pushing it firmly so it's smaller on its way out and not just to break the seal.I did find I had a bit of a leak when I had to take it out and then put it back in, but I assume it could be because some stuff was still on its way out. It wasn't a big leak either and I don't think I'd need to change it very often anyway.I also found that, compared with the Meluna (which is softer, in case you tried the Fleurcup and want something softer) it opens much more easily and without having to adjust it.Now I get what other reviewers meant when they said that you kind of forget you're even on your period: I'm really crampy, so I wouldn't really, but I found that for whatever reason I'm a bit less crampy and I don't get the blockages that I used to right at the beginning of my period and once it's settled in position I do not feel it any more. It's much more discreet than a tampon and I didn't worry about the string while in a swimsuit. Also, I generally find that I smell different when I'm having my period, but I don't at all with this cup, I'm guessing because nothing gets out at all, unlike with sanitary towels.Really, I'm giving it 4 stars only because it takes a bit getting used to it, but for the rest it's a pretty cool product. I'm considering getting some reusable pads to be extra sure I don't get small leaks, but I'm quite happy I got this! Shame I didn't find it earlier, really.

Converted to menstruales cups now
Converted to this cup 2 yrs ago and not looked back. It can be tricky at first to get the hang of exactly how high/low to position this(a bit lower than you may think) but since I have, leaks are very rare.Getting it in is akin to posting a letter to oneself followed by opening an umbrella. As with an umbrella there is a moment when it kind of pops into position and is ready to go. I would use a light pad with it until you get the hang of this or ir very heavy days maybe. It is comfortable and durable, fits well size wise, comes out easily. It does get a bit stained overtime but I can Iive with that.I wouldn’t go back now after using this and wish they’d have been around earlier in my womanhood but at 45 I haven’t hopefully got many more periods to go!

door opener
loved it took a while getting it in and making sure it was open but once I'd done that it was great went on a water holiday was due on the day I landed and found out about this product a week before I went. I paddled down lakes floated down mud rivers and lazy rivers sat in pool as a regular tampon wearer none of this would have been possible, this product is a life saver and I couldn't feel it this was my biggest worry as having read reviews this is what a lot of people had said, but i'd just had a smear test and was informed that I had a low cervix so I knew I needed this one (big help0

Great value for money and environment
I remember doing a lot of research regarding cups and deciding this one is the best and I haven’t been disappointed yet! 3 years later and still going on strong however, it gets really stained after first use of the month even when I boil it and then clean it with bicarb too. So it’s quite gross to look at however is defitnely clean and hasn’t caused any vaginal issues yet so I’m not that bothered by the gross stains

I apologise for the TMI, I needed to explain
This is my first cup and I really recommend it. I was having a horrible time with my periods. They were beyond heavy and really painful. I'd dread having to move in the morning, and hated having to use the bathroom. I was a bit apprehensive about menstrual cups, but figured it's worth trying because towels and tampons are ridiculously expensive and I hate the smell and how they make me feel unclean. When I bought this cup I'd been bleeding for almost 9 weeks and was getting so fed up. I boiled the cup as directed on the fleurcup website, and used the "labia" fold, and after the second go I got the hang out it. I still used a towel or panty liner for peace of mind, but didn't really need to. After about 5 days, my awful period finished naturally. I believe this cups slight suction helped with that. I worried my bleeding would be too heavy for the cup, but even at my worst I was able to leave it 4/5 hours without emptying and cleaning the cup. I now don't dread my period coming on

Good first experience
The Fleur:First cup I've used ever. Very comfortable and gives me more confidence. More practical than pads when I'm working in the community. Used now for about 3 months. Very easy to use and clean. No staining to date. Very soft and comfortable to insert and remove. Because of softness however sometimes does not open fully so I'm looking into another design. Possibly the femme cup.Great experience. Normally very heavy. Would need to change pad 4/5 times while at work. This was in place for 6/7hrs before I change. No pouch supplied with this cup. Apparently this is to keep the price lower.Update. I found a new fold to insert. It's called the Labia fold and worked very well. My cup opened up once inserted or I was able to manipulate it to open. It now works even better.

Changes your life & helps the planet!
Amazing!!! Never thought I’d get on with one of these as I have very heavy periods to the extent I soaked super tampons every hour!! I’ve only tried it one cycle so far but it’s already changed my life! No more plastic sanitary waste or cost is amazing!! But also for me I went 6-7 hrs before I needed to empty the cup, phenomenal! Admittedly getting the thing in/out comfortably is going to take so getting used to but definitely worth persevering! 1000% recommend.
