Very sturdy and easy to use

I purchased this garden splitter to help split the flow on our outside garden tap to enable connection to a hose and also control a separate water irrigation system. In the box was the splitter itself, PTFE tape for secure leak free connections, plus the quick connector style connectors which simply screw on if required. The splitter itself is made of metal and seems pretty robust which I prefer to plastic models which I find don't tend to work well in cold weather. Each connector has a switch to enable this to be turned on and off to control flow. The reason for dropping a star is sometimes we find the switches stiff to turn but otherwise this is an good product, works well and no leaks so far. Recommended.

Good for the money

The packaging is very robust.Everything you need is in the box. The item itself is extremely strong and well made. It fits perfectly on my tap and hose connectors with no leaks.The black plastic on/ off control on each side looks flimsy but I have used them a few times now and I think they will be fine, there were very stiff the first use almost to the point where I thought they would break for the force needed to turn them , but they were fine and since have been easy to move from off to on and visa versa. Good value item.

Seriously don't waste your money, the first sign of chilly weather and the metal split, not a washer or something simple, the metal threaded part for the tap split almost the whole circumference so water spurted out when I turned the tap on and no it wasn't overtightened. The plastic parts I'd attached to it are absolutely fine, it was all completely drained of water and the non-dripping tap was off so there was no ice pressure.Of course it's out of returnable time, so all I can do is warn others to look elsewhere, my money's gone in the bin!

Do not use for laundry as the Y splitter creates good leverage for the hoses to start slowly loosening the splitter's connection and then small leaks will appear. Fine for use outdoors where the leak will be minor, but indoors it can slowly build up behind a washing machine and gradually get a little bit worse without you knowing it.

It was very easy to connect our garden water tap and to the two hosepipes we are using for upper and lower level roof garden and works a treat. I used some plumber tape that was included (very thoughtful!) easy :)Now, I don't have to switch the hose pipes physically directly on the tap anymore, which was putting a slight strain on our tap before and was also hassle. I love this little gadget. I can leave both connected now and just turn on the little taps as needed and they are solid and working well.

The item has been in place for less then a month, connected to two gardening hoses. One of the connector suddently broke, probably due to poor material choice.
