Two grinders in one?? You decide.
Does everything you expect from a 115/125mm grinder. Great function that the on switch stays on with one press then one press to stop. No more painful holding in for the duration of the cut.But here's why I really bought it. It's variable speed can take it down to 3000rpm. Why's that significant??Also bought an accessory Bosch 225mm guard at the same time! Now swap the small guard for the big one and fit a 225mm masonry type disc. Before you start it up mate please make sure your speed is reduced down to the safe speed the manufacturer recommended for the larger disc diameter. It's entirely your responsibility to be safe and not to take my comment without checking it out independently before use and coming to your own informed decision. No liability will be accepted whatsoever on my behalf.Overall the grinder is well built, balanced well and the spare bushes should add to the working life. The guard supplied is fiddly to fit and takes some care to get right. Needs a small spanner to ensure a positive fit. Toughmaster - why don't you make a suitable hex nut tightener on the handle end of the grinder spanner supplied to enable the guard to be nipped up??

No disc included
My long-lived heirloom 9" angle grinder stopped halfway through an angled cut in a 2" thick paving slab. It didn't end with a " bang" or a "whimper", it just stopped! So I urgently needed to get a 'next day' replacement to finish the job before the bank holiday, and chose this one. It arrived in the morning and I was pleased to find it to be considerably lighter and more manoeuvrable than my old grinder which has a lot of inertia. Fortunately I also ordered a S&R diamond cutting disc because this angle grinder HAS NO DISC INCLUDED IN THE BOX. Because the disc was smaller than my old one I had to cut from both sides of the slab to the middle but the disc cut surprisingly easily without seeming to put any load on the motor.I would give this angle grinder 5 stars except that I don't like the design of the guard clamp. I don't see what it achieves and the lever protrudes beyond the case of the grinder which reduces the cutting depth by some 6mm. That doesn't sound much and wouldn't be a problem when grinding but is actually significant if using a 115mm cutting disc.

Good price for a multispeed grinder
I'm not a heavy user, but seems to have plenty of power and not as heavy as my last grinder (15 yr old Parkside one). The variable speed was a deal-maker for me as I cut plastics as well as metals so need low speeds to avoid melting the piece. Cold starting at lower speeds also reduces the torque reaction through the tool. As for longevity - too early to tell yet.
