As a professional nail technician, cuticle oil is something we recommend to clients because of its nourishing properties for helping new, stronger nail growth. It’s important to moisturise your nails separately to your hands; many hand creams claim that they are also beneficial for the nail but that simply isn’t true. It would be the equivalent of using your face moisturiser on your hair. Hair and nails are both keratin based and therefore need their own type of moisturisation that’s different to skin.Over the years, I have used various different cuticle oils and I have to say that for me, handsdown the best one is solar oil. Despite being oil, it isn’t too greasy and absorbs into the cuticle nicely without leaving too much residue, and that small amount of residue you do get easily goes away by rubbing your nails on your trousers or just washing your hands.The oil has a very pleasant almond/marzipan fragrance to it. I personally like this because I don’t like fruity smelling moisturisers/cuticle oils but if you aren’t a fan of that smell, it’s not recommended because there is a distinct smell. That being said once the oil has been rubbed in the smell very quickly dissipates but somebody who was really an avid hater of the smell may notice it lingering longer.It may seem expensive when you first see it but the oil lasts such a long time. I have been using every day for two weeks and the bottle is no different.I much prefer using a brush and bottle application, you can get oil pens but I find that these don’t apply very well and the oil tends to separate inside the pen with no way to truly mix it up other than just shaking which creates bubbles.Overall, it’s a really good quality nail cuticle oil and if you’re looking to help strengthen your nails and to nourish new growth, it’s worth paying that little bit extra for a decent professional brand like this

CND Solar Oil Nail & Cuticle Care 15ml is a fantastic product. I received a sample in a beauty box and was so impressed that I bought the full-sized version. It's easy to use, not greasy, and absorbs quickly. It hydrates my cuticles and nails amazingly well. Dry skin disappears after just one use, and with continued use, the problem is completely gone. My nails have improved a lot, and I highly recommend it to anyone, especially if you need to care for your nails regularly due to work or other reasons.

Ordered this CND Solar oil as my nails were a bit dehydrated after having gel removed, the oil itself is really lovely, very easy to apply as it has a brush, it smells great, it does condition your nails but for me it’s still early days but I’m sure if I continue with the oil my nails will improve. The oil was dispatched quickly and it arrived before said date.

Love this oil, works well and good size

It definitely does help my nails, but towards the end of the bottle it seems to lose strength

She loves painting her nails and this gets used every time .

This smells beautiful and within days my nails have a healthy sheen
