What dried veg should be like
Add one chicken or vegetable stock cube, good handful of these dried vegetables, and a grate of black pepper for a lovely simple soup. It does need to be simmered for a good fifteen minutes but I am told that it was an easy make over a camping stove in the bottom pan, while he heated the thin bread in the top lid covered in foil. I have also added these successfully to ground beef to make a small stew. These are about the best dried veg that I have found, full of flavour and super size pieces. Good mix.

Dried vegetables.
Nice big bag arrived promptly. I use these to add to stews and soups and paella mix rice dishes. Needs about 20 minutes of cooking/gentle simmering to reconstitute. You don't need to use much; I use about a dessert spoonful per person as a general measure. Great value for money and good for you!! How long do these keep; about 1000 years if kept dry! Seriously, quite some time providing they don't come into contact with water or steam.

This does not taste good
I bought for emergency vegetable stock in case vegetables run out in the fridge. I thought it would be nice to add this to soup. I left this dried vegetable in a hot water for 6 hours and it was still hard despite of '' Premium Quality '' the adverts says. The texture was not as good as I expected.Although I don’t know where the strange, strong flavour comes from, the taste is not pleasant for me. Does it come from parsnips, pepper or celery? I don’t know. I like those vegetables, though. I found it was very difficult to change this yucky taste by adding other fresh vegetables. Unfortunately, I cannot say I like this dried vegetable.

Useful
Aromatic and nutritional, though of course not as much so as fresh vegetables, these mixed vegetables give the opportunity to cook with vegetables when you need to go to the supermarket or when you are in a hurry. They are useful for dishes made with rice, pasta or grains such as couscous, and they could be incorporated in soups. They don't look as attractive as fresh vegetables and, personally, I would include at least some frozen peas or tinned sweetcorn, to improve the appearance and texture of the dish.

No wasted time preparing, adds full flavour.
Soups and casserole dishes. This product is ideal to put together a full nourishing hot meal cooked in a slow cooker. Main advantage is reduced preparation time. No chopping or slicing required.

Tasty product.
This is an excellent tasty product with a really good range of veg included. Use primarily for backpacking but so good ideal for soups, stews and curries at home. When rehydrated volume increases quite a lot which is great.

I was a bit dubious
I was a bit dubious about this to take camping with me, so I bought the smaller package. I tried it out at home to test. So I made a Beef Guinness stew.......oh my goodness, yummy.
