Chair Caning & Seat Weaving Handbook: Illustrated Directions for Cane, Rush, and Tape Seats Paperback – Illustrated, 1 Aug. 2012

We have had a nursery chair from the family for twenty years with no seat left in it. My little two year old grand daughter adopted it as soon as it was restored and sat next to the radio for her music. It must be very comfortable now it is restored and looks so beautiful. My husband found the instructions clear and the advice on handling new cane helpful. It also deals with rush seating - looks straightforward as well!

easy to follow would purchase again

The information/ instructions are good but it’s written for USA market so supplier list isn’t much use in uk

I bought this book as I had purchased a chair frame that needed re caning but had no experience of this. On ordering the caning kit I was dismayed to find that full instructions were included and so I thought my purchase of this book was wasted. How wrong could I be. Whereas the instructions that came with the kit were quite good this book filled in the "information holes" and covered the intricacies like how to tie off the ends and finish off properly. Between the basic instructions and this book I successfully completed my chair within a week of an odd hour here and there. Very enjoyable. This book also covers rush weaving of stools and chairs which I found useful as I had bought a couple of small foot stalls that needed attention. Personally I found this a good reference guide

Love this book, I love the cane section, did some large projects years ago, but needed a refresher to give me the confidence to attempt a chair

Whilst the illustrations are clear an the wording concise it is more of a booklet than book - a total of 30 pages!

Good and simple instructions with pictures. Perfect for a caning beginner.
