Craft-tasting Design your own wings kit, is great for a child into fairies, butterflies, or costumes. My kids are very into crafts and since we just had Halloween they are very into costumes. There is only one set of wings in this kit. The top and bottom portion of the wings come separateIy. The box then you get the yarn, needle, elastic straps, and a small sample piece of the wing material to practice on. You need to use your own supplies to decorate these wings. So you can use anything you want. There's a lot of area to cover if your not just drawing designs on the wings. I'd recommend paint or thick markers for speed and convenience. It's best to plan out your design first unless your kid is really skilled at drawing. Definitely test your paint or markers on the sample paper fabric they give you.My wings paper material came a little crushed, because they have to squeeze the wings into the box. The wings have a pretty sturdy metal frame inside the wings. The paper is actually very thick and sturdy itself. My child had fun decorating the wings. Especially after the paint and markers dried and I pulled out the glitter glue. I had to help them connect the top and bottom wings with the thread and also to attach the elastic. My kids have been wearing them on and off depending on what they are playing. Depending on how nicely your child decorated their wings they could make for fun bedroom decor. My kids are pretty rough taking them on, off, and when playing so I don't think my pair will make it to being decor.

If you already have a budding little artist, or a stash full of craft supplies, then you will love this. For us we were left disappointed because it's not an all inclusive craft kit. I'm used to sets like this giving you everything you need but this one is very lacking. All you get is the blank wings and a small activity of assembling it. I appreciate that it teaches some stitching/assembly but it would look better if they just pre-assembled wings with better materials, especially if it's not going to include a single marker or anything to make them as shown on the package. It's nice to let them be creative, but for the advertised cost, they surely could have included something more... I would rather cut wings from recycled cardboard boxes, purchase cheap costume/halloween wings, or make wings from wire hangers and nylon.

You'll need your own decorating materials - markers, glitter, paint since this is a base kit for the wings themselves and not the decorations. But I think most households already have the basics anyway, so there won't be any wasted product. The kit comes with the wings and the shoulder elastic/supports to wear the wings. The decorations are all in a shade of 'magical' purple but that doesn't affect your design choices and they are at least quite lovely and not basic looking.The wings are fairly flimsy so you won't necessarily be storing them in with other toys or they will get broken. I found they made a lovely display on the wall when not in use - we hang them there and my daughter can admire her artwork and the time she put into her own personal wings. Since there are two, they are great for an afternoon friend get-together and then the two can play make believe fairies.

This kit provides endless options for imagination to soar. The wings are 34" which are quite large, but in many cases a big hit with the kids decorating and designing them. This kit is just for making the wings and does not come with decorating materials. Shoulder supports are included so that the child or children using this can don the wings for a flight into imagination.Since the wings are light and somewhat gauzy, they need to be packed gently so as to prevent damage. There are two sets of wings per kit and as other U.S. reviewers noted, they can be displayed on the wall as art.

This is a cute little set of decorate your own wings. I found the quality was very high and the wings are made out of plastic paper which holds up quiet well - so well that when my kids tried to play tug of war they did not rip! I found that my children both had a good time coloring their own side of the wings so I have two very different wings but they look good either way.I would purchase this as a gift in the future and would recommend it for any age that can color but 6+ if you want them to be able to put it together.

This is a super cute kit but it didn't come with markers or paint to get the look on the cover of the box. For that reason I have to take away two stars. If you had gotten this to take to a vacation or give as a present the child could not use it right away without those items to match the look of the front or to really customize it.

Nice craft for an afternoon with your kid. Typically I like craft kits that come with all the necessary supplies because I hate needing to go out and buy pipe cleaners or something. But this set only includes the stuff to make the wings, it’s bring your own for color/decoration. This is better because I also don’t need more rando crayons or markers in my house.
