Roman Joseph Studio St. Joseph Figurine Renaissance Collection 13.7 Inch

It can be really challenging to find a well-sculpted religious statue these days. Either the sculpting is really below par or the painting is very amateurish. In this instance, I selected an unpainted version because I avoided that second issue of really poor paint quality. However, it is important to note this does in fact have a gold wash on it. That was not apparent in the image - the one visible 'gold' spot in the photo was on the knee and I thought it was a light reflection. There is quite a bit of the gold dry-brushed on the statue which was a little disappointing because I was hoping for a more natural looking stone/marble look. However, it is beautifully sculpted. I would love to see 2 options: 1) without the gold highlights and 2) smaller -12" -size since 18" is pretty big. But all in all, this is by far the nicest statue of St. Joseph that I could find after doing extensive research online. It's a shame how even items sculpted in Italy are so poorly done these days. It's a bit shocking. I was willing to pay significantly more but even pricier versions were just 'meh'.

Given as a gift my brother he loves it! Not huge and lightweight too but faces are beautiful!

I brought this statue with me to mass and the consecration to St. Joseph afterwards, had it blessed by my priest, and got many compliments on just how beautiful it is. I noted that they had a "full color" version of it as well with more detail, but this was exactly what I was looking for in a tall statue for my home. One thing to note is just how powerful an image this is when viewed from behind as well as from the front - St. Joseph didn't say very much in the scriptures, but he sure did love, care for, and protect our Lord!
