While it doesn’t have a lot of bells and whistles that you might find on some other moisture meters, it does do the job. I live and work in a building that was built in the 70s and experiences age-related problems, among those are leaky pipes in the walls. So far, it’s helped me locate a leak behind the sheet rock wall before it got worse, and I’ve also experimented by holding a wet towel up behind some different materials the meter has proven to be accurate so far, as long as you keep in mind the thickness of the material.I like the fact that it doesn’t use pins so there’s no danger of marring some finished surfaces. And means that you could potentially use it on a lot of surfaces that a pinned meter wouldn’t work on.While it doesn’t have a lot of bells and whistles, it is easy to hold and use, just remember to calibrate first. It is a little bit bulkier than some models that use pins, but that’s not really a dealbreaker. It comes with a nice cloth drawstring carrying case, includes three AAA batteries, and an instruction manual so you can get up and running immediately.It feels good and solid in your hand, the construction seems sturdy and durable and feels solid in your hand, and the display is easy to read, and the buttons are all well-marked and responsive when you push them. The way it’s set up you can quickly determine the moisture content in the wall, if there is any, by reading the meter or hearing the alarm.It is a little pricey, but I believe that it’s worth it because you can use it on some materials that you could not use a pinned meter on.

This is easy to use. Wish there was a manual calibration setting. I tested several pieces of wood and it was saying wet and about 60% moisture. I tested it against my pin meter and this read higher in every case. I tested fresh cut oak and it read about 65% which is what I expected. I tested it against some kiln dried oak which tested around 10% when purchased but this read around 45%. The instructions are not very good. Need to find a good calibration source and see what it reads. Not sure it is a high quality instrument for the price.

This moisture meter is very handy, precise and of good quality. I use it a few times a year to check the outside walls of my house for leaks or moisture. This type of meter assumes that you are familiar with the device and the measurement. It has a scale of 0-100 and 3 areas ( dry-risk-wet) that give a quick overview of the moisture content. Remember, if the display reads 30, that doesn't mean the moisture content is 30% (Precent)! It's just an indicator on a scale of 0 to 100. Overall I'm very happy with this device and it makes me feel good to have another look at the moisture levels on my walls. Highly recommended.

Just rebuilt my fence and was needing to put some Ready Seal on it. It was recommended that I make sure the moisture of the wood was below 12%. This came up and so I figured I would give it a try. It works awesome. after about a month and a half, I tested the wood to find that some areas were around 12-13.5 and then the treated wood was around 17-18%. I can see this being a great tool to have for checking all types of things and is super easy to calibrate and use. Came with batteries and a nice suede-feeling bag. 5/5

I have two moisture meters from Durficst, this one and their cheaper version with the sensor on the back side. This one has the sensor contained within the ball at the top. There are several differences between the two units. The cheaper version has different setting for hard and soft woods, this one does not. The cheaper version actually shows the current relative humidity and uses that to compare what you are measuring, this one does the same thing but does not display the humidity level. The cheaper unit has a nice semi-rigid zipper nylon case, this unit only comes with a drawstring felt bag.The unit auto-calibrates when turned on for the first time so the instructions are to turn it on the hold it up in the air away from anything solid. It will beep when completed. To recalibrate, hit the MEAS button then after calibration you can use the device to measure moisture. It has no other real settings. I cannot vouch for the accuracy since I do not own a Wagner meter. What I can say, is that the measurement is repeatable. The unit claims a measurement depth up to 40 mm, with a low of 20 mm. This is not ideal if you are trying to use some expensive slab of wood to build your first epoxy river table.One caveat in the manual, if you workpiece is less than 20 mm thick, it says there is a chance the reading will be inaccurate. Without separate setting you need to keep the manual handy as you are supposed to refer to a chart to see if your material is dry.At double the price of the cheaper unit and a max 40 mm depth vs 20 mm depth, not sure I would want to spend $100 on this meter. It appears that features were removed just to give you a better sensor. Three stars because it does what it says it is supposed to do, nothing more.

l'appreil est sans pinoches et fonctionne par l'onde électromagnétique. mais très sensible l'environnement de mesure à réaliser. Je suis en train de mesurer le séchage du mur en béton après une fuite dans le cabinet de toilette où il y a une colonne d'evacuation de l'eau usée. Pour avoir une mesure correcte, il faut calibrer correctement (lire sa notice) en suite placer la sonde perpendiculairement à la surface à mesurer sinon la sonde capture autour, éviter de mesurer près d'un tuyau d'eau (dans mon cas la colonne d'eau), métalliques, meme dans le béton... Bon courage !!il faut vraiment faire attention sinon la mesure sera faussée. Dans ce cas, l'appreil avec les pinoches est plus adapte à faire mesure correcte.

Klare Kaufempfehlung!
