An Album that is much needed in Music today!
Ill add more tto the review later, but i wanted to add a few paragraphs, points quickly so people BUY this awesome album.Do you like the band Sublime, pepper, slightly stoopid, reggae, stoner reggae/rap, Beach/island/Cali sounds? If any of those apply you should do yourself a favor and purchase this album, and as a five dollar mp3 download you getting a steal! It is very rare that i can enjoy and 4-5 star every song on an album-Dirty heads does just that! The album has 23 songs! 23! And every single song is great, i am not kidding. But for someone coming into dirty heads not familiar with the sound, which is a genre twist in my opinion, rap/reggae, with alternative sounds, and brings you to the beach, warm vibrant beats. Great summer album, and perfect with the beach, and surfing, skating, or if your too old to do that, sit and have a few drinks in your lawn chair type of groovy tunes. The song, Neighborhood, stand tall, shine, and lay me down have great hooks/chorus-and i dare you resist singing with them! Lay me down featurs Rome from Sublime with rome, great tune. Also if you ever watched the cartoon surf's up dirty heads had the song stand tall on the movie, great song! But as a long time lover of dirty heads, buy the album, five bucks, come on cheap skate, you won't regret it. i shared the album with my ancient co-worker who also enjoyed the songs, you will too!

This debut album is one of the best I've heard in awhile
I just bought this CD after listening to about half of their songs on Youtube, and I have to say I am really impressed by their versatility. They have all sorts of sounds, a unique sound that reminds me of Sublime, although they are far more hip-hop influenced than Sublime was. They are less on the reggae side than Sublime, but their rhymes and rap are just awesome. After being let down by Sublime with Rome, and have been looking for another band that is actually similar to the Southern California sound I heard from Sublime, but with actually some edge. Most of the Sublime copycat bands don't have edge, don't have versatility like these guys do. Most every song on this CD is very listenable. Some of my favorites so far are:NeighborhoodStand TallDriftinTaintEasyInsomniaChelseaBelieveHip-Hop MisfitsAntelopeHeadphonesSails to the WindLay Me DownI'll have to give it a few more listens before I truly absorb how great this album is. Both of the lead singers are great, with singing and rapping ability. The beats are really good as well. These guys are going to make a big impression on the music world, with their mellow melodies combined with the best white hip-hop since Eminem.

Surprisingly well balanced and fantastic
Wow, I did not expect to like this album as much as I do. The first listening was amazing and it keeps getting better from there. It is hard to classify in "if you like this, then you'll also like" way, but...This album has a wonderful mix of Sublime, Pepper (without the punk influences), Bad Ronald, Planting Seeds, Incubus, Ballyhoo!, Gym Class Heroes and of course, Kottonmouth Kings. The music is full and rewarding, the lyrics are well written and enjoyable. If anything some of the songs run a little long and get repetitive towards the end, but that is me looking for problems. I have not enjoyed an album in this genre in quite a while and I highly recommend it.I would list favorite songs, but I don't think I could pull any out, they work together and compliment each other the way it takes all of the ingredients n a soup to make it right. If you aren't sure, listen to Insomnia, Sails to The Wind, Viva la Vida and the single, Lay Me Down. If you like any ONE of these songs, I recommend the whole album. It will only make you appreciate the others more. Two thumbs up! I'm ready for summer, get this album and you will be too!

You pumpkin haircutted freak
If you are looking for a well rounded starting point for the Dirty Heads this would be it. The lyrics always bring me back to my 'neighborhood' and it's like hearing an album from two of the heads from around the corner. The Dirty Heads take some drastic turns in their style from a hard rap, to acoustic strumming, all the way to what is turning into jangly pop. Oddly the latter which is not really to my taste is actually really quite good. Perhaps I have been acclimated to get to this point. Bottom line is that I love this album and it is one of my favorites when our riding my bike. The tunes really seem to work well for that particular activity(skating as well). I recommend everyone add this to their library. Check it out. Oh...Duddy, if you are reading this, how about record "CB" for us?

Surprisingly addicting. EDITED
I bought this album with somewhat high hopes. I mean, yea Dirty Heads are a newer band, but from what the other reviews had said, I was actually really excited. I bought it for $5.00. (Damn good deal.)So after a listen (Took a while. 23 songs!), I didn't really know what to think. This band has a large range of musical styles. They're punk, ska(ish), and have a bit of rap. I like most of the songs, but there are a few that I just can't stand. I'm not a huge fan of rap so I couldn't listen to a few songs. (They were entirely rap.EX. Hip Hop Misfits, Headphones, Antelope)Overall, this album has something for everyone. For $5.00, it's definitely worth it.EDIT:After listening to this a bit more, even the rap songs grow on ya. I'm in love with all of these songs, and I can't wait for their new album to be released. (In the upcoming year)Buy it, trust me

No Regrets!
I am a huge fan of Dirty Heads. The blue splatter looks really good! The sleeve and inner sleeves are great! Delivery was really fast! But the biggest thing is the record sound has depth and lots of bass!
