Recommend as a good 1st crossbow
Best beginner friendly crossbow make sure you buy extra strings and the tool for changing the strings novices will dry fire and explode the strings even though you tell them not too the crossbow is very durable and well built to survive misuse by people just learning how to use a crossbow. I highly recommend it as a 1st crossbow because all the things it survived but it is still accurate and works well even with bad operators

So fun to plink with and it’s quiet enough it won’t disturb the neighbors or your dogs
Giving it a 4 star instead of a 5 because this thing eats cables. I haven’t gotten more than 50 shots out of a cable even with string wax and lubricating the rail before every plinking session. So like another gentleman on here said. When you buy this thing go ahead and grab the cable replacement tool and extra set of cables($120🤦♂️). Otherwise this thing is wonderful. Easy to cock(I’m a former infantry Marine- so might be hard for other to cock at 50lbs), super accurate, and hell of a good time to shoot. I just wish the replacement cables weren’t $60 a piece, or atleast lasted up to 500 shots like Ballista claims. There’s absolutely no way it’ll last that long. I’m on my third cable🤷♂️ but I would absolutely recommend this thing to anyway looking for an end of times goat. It’s my squirrel sniper; but with the larger hunting bolts you could definitely take down large game. If you’re even debating on buying it? Do it you won’t be disappointed other than the cable life.

nice xbow
bow arrived on time and in good condition from the vendor. need to fit a red-dot to the crossbow to make aiming easier as there are no ironsights.

This is an expensive platform to maintain!
After two weeks of shooting my cable screws came loose! I ordered the press from Balista's website along with new limbs trigger box replacement string and cables for almost $300! They sent that package via ground advantage It has been almost two weeks since I ordered from them and still nothing has arrived. Who in the world sends a $300 package via snail mail!!!!! Not to mention, I have purchased the folding stock as well. So I hope you're starting to get the picture you're gonna spend at least a $1000 or more, to make this thing usable and 4, the absolute upkeep it's going to need. Honestly, I would just buy an air gun if you're looking for something that can do what this can do.

Bait and switch
Purchased this item with expectations as advertised up to 420’ per sec. My box has this figure yet now the same item claims 340’ and the box has been updated without the 420’ showing. Also any decent crossbow stings are wrapped where they cross the rail since that takes all the friction. These are not. I’ve been shooting crossbows for 20 years and know the upkeep on them. This string frayed in 20 shots.
