Gardman A01014 Wooden Ground Wild Bird Feeder Tray, Natural, 2 kg

Put this on my flat shed roof for various garden visitors (mostly wood pigeons and magpies at the mo). Seed doesn't fall through the mesh too much (mostly dust and small seed husks). Not the best quality wood, I do wonder how long it will last but not too bothered about that. Sits flat, reasonable weight so squabbling birds shouldn't knock over.

Very flimsy. Easy to snap the legs when moving/filling it and if anything larger than a sparrow uses it (pigeons and magpies occasionally in my case) the mesh just can't take the weight and tears away from the frame.Looked nice and worked well initially, but just nowhere near strong enough. Waste of money.

Excellent product. Mine is on the patio, replacing a small round metal feeder. Gives much more space for the sparrows (my main visitors). Previously they were crowding round a small feeder, so the idea in buying this was to give them a bit more room.I wish someone could convey this idea to them as they have had this new feeder for a couple of months now and are only just getting used to it. The robin initially took responsibility for it and, for some reason, thought it was his own private feeder, repelling all boarders. Slowly the sparrows are beginning to stick up for themselves.It's easy to clean and sturdy enough for the job, so I would definitely recommend it.Update: December 2015Still of the same opinion - very good feeder. Now the sparrows have finally got used to it, although Mr Robin still thinks it's his and still tries to peck at any other bird (even the starlings) that tries to feed. Very good entertainment value for us!

Great for keeping out hoards of starlings and pigeons! The goldfinches and tit family love using it which I fill with sunflower hearts (I gave-up using seed mixture as much of it gets wasted and found on the ground.) I attached a plastic hanging plant pot underneath the guardian which catches a lot of the discarded parts of the sunflower hearts as the Goldfinches make quite a mess with them which now ends up neatly piled up each day in the large plant pot attached under the hanging guardian instead of on the ground.)It's relatively simple to dismantle and clean. Arrived on time too!Only negative aspect I found with this is the hanger part rusted a bit at the joint part in the rain which has caused it to be extremely squeaky in the wind.

Edit.. after a couple of weeks the beading holding the mesh in place from the underside came away. I saw then that the wood strip was very narrow and held in place by staples. Unfortunately with larger birds it didn’t stay on and seed spilled everywhere, so I have asked to returned it. Hopefully this was a one off and other items are constructed better..edit 2- my return to seller JDS was dreadful, very protracted and frustrating taking 3 weeks and numerous frustrating emails chasing. Would not recommend the seller or feeder- National Trust version much better constructedI always rate other Gardman products highly. And I have 10 other feeders ! This is the first type of ground feeder I’ve ever purchased - it arrived so well packaged, best packing I’ve received from anyone, loads of bubble wrap, to ensure no damage - perfect.The item is a good size, sturdy and light no sharp edged anywhere. Birds were soon on it feeding

Well it is OK, for the price it was not bad but the quality of assembly was not special it had been put together with staples which meant that the legs were a bit loose, nothing a couple of panel pins would not fix.The size is approx. 41.5cms x 33 cms x 12 cms so room enough for a flock of starlings or pigeons.Had I only ordered one I would have just thought that I was unlucky but I bought two and both were the same.Still it is useful, I did buy one as a present but I am not sure it is good enough to give as a present.

This review is for the Gardman Ground Feeder Tray only.I received this feeder tray yesterday and I am really impressed. It seems very well made and is much larger than I expected - in fact a good deal larger. Far better than the small all metal tray I have been using to date. It cost me £10.45 on Amazon Prime which I think is extremely good value.I put the tray out today for the first time and it has already proved very popular with our feathered friends.

Sehr schöne und praktische Futterschale die sehr gut verarbeitet ist und praktisch zugleich. Durch das engmascvhige Gitter kann durch Regen nasses Futter schnell wieder trocknen und es fällt nichts durch, Die Abmessung sind großzügig, auch große Vögel kommen gerne

Voilà un plateau d'alimentation pour les oiseaux qui mange au sol.Les mailles sont bien conçut pour que l'eau tombe au sol et évite les moisissures,mais attention les petites graines comme le Niger passe souvent au travers(le millet reste).

Für den Outdooreinsatz gedacht ist diese Bodenfutterstation. Jedoch ist die Ausführung in ungeeigneter Qualität, Holz faulte bei Regen und die Bodenstützen fallen/faulen ab. Konnte ich alles nach wenigen Wochen entsorgen.Fazit: Für mich ein Fehlkauf gewesen.

Le principe de cette mangeoire est très intéressant : faire en sorte que les graines ne soient pas souillées par la terre et que l’eau de pluie soit évacuée. La réalité est autre : au bout d’une semaine d’utilisatIon, le fond est déjà presque détaché ! La qualités fabrication n’est donc pas au rendez-vous, cet article n’est pas cher mais beaucoup trop cher si l’on doit le changer toutes les semaines !
