Does One Thing and Does it Well
My first cordless vacuum was a Hoover Linx. It was a nifty little vacuum that was easy to grab to do a quick cleanup. I could give the whole condo a quick touchup without emptying the dust cup. I especially liked the removable battery that could be charged discretely. No need to have the vacuum standing out in the open next to an outlet to charge. I also have a full size Dyson, but sometimes you just don't need the big guns. Plus I have a lady that comes to clean every other week. After six years of service, the bottom floor piece broke off the upright. Apparently, that was the Linx's weakness. I was ready to order another one, but it was discontinued. I ended up with one of those multifunction Dyson lookalikes, because it had a removable battery. Among its multifunctions, it did nothing well. It wouldn't touch my German Shepherd's hair. I have a nice hand vac, so I didn't need that. When I vacuumed, all the extra tools kept falling off the handle, until I ended up throwing them out. I couldn't even finish one room without having to stop and empty the tiny dust cup. The center of gravity, motor and battery, was up at the handle making it awkward and when you're old, a bit tiring to handle. I finally had enough, and sent it to that great broom closet in the sky. This time, I ordered the Hoover Evolve Pet Elite and I've been very happy with it. It has everything I like, removable battery for charging, large dust cup, low center of gravity so the floor carries most of the weight, nimble and easy to grab for touchups. It's like my good old Linx only better and more powerful. This one even gets the dog hair off the Persians. And I have learned a lesson. Having a tool that does one thing well can be better than one that does several things poorly.

EVEN BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL
EVEN BETTER THAN THE ORIGINALI was previously the owner of the: Hoover Linx Cordless Stick Vac.- I loved this Vac, but after 11 years of constant use it was worn-out.So, this product is the replacement, and a significant upgrade.- More Suction Power- More Floor-Type Settings- Larger Capacity Bag (bin)- Faster Charge Time- Longer Battery LifeWhat’s not to like!!!!

I GOT A LEMON
First of all, I have owned 2 Hoover Linx vacs. I bought one in '15 and one in '16. Understandably, one of them died but I do still have the one. Eight years is spectacular for a battery powered vac. I searched and searched for the Linx which is no longer available. I imagine this is the upgraded version of the Linx. When I took it out of the box, the instructions said to push the handle into the vac opening and push down till it clicks. I pushed as hard as I could but never did hear a clicking sound but I thought as hard as I pushed, it should be ok. I also charged the battery. When I tried to turn the vac on, it would not come on, despite trying several things. I googled for trouble shooting but never really found anything. Customer service is only available M-F, 9-3, despite saying 9-6 on the instruction sheet. Also, the instructions said there are "no serviceable parts" to this vac. Hmmmmm. After all that, I thought, this thing is going back. We had to figure out how to get the handle back out of the vac. To do that, there is a small hole in which you place a small screwdriver. Pushing into that hole releases the handle. Once we did this, it must have "seated" the handle so it worked! I was very happy about that UNTIL I went to turn it off. It would not turn off despite pressing the on/off button numerous times. I had to remove the battery to shut it off. By this time, I am totally burned out from fooling with it and have decided to send it back. I'll look for something else. The Hoover Linx is the best stick vac ever made, imo. It worked like a charm and the filtration system was very easy to disassemble. After every few uses, I'd take very everything apart and wash it. I see many people happy with this model, but it did not work for me.

This is an excellent vacuum with a slightly small battery
This is an awesome rechargeable vacuum. It's lightweight and it has three different modes, vacuum only ,slow beater bar and fast beater bar. You can vacuum for about 15 minutes on high with it before the battery gets soft on you. The first one I had lasted about a year before the bearing on the beater bar wore out, but I liked it so well that I bought another one. It's very easy to empty and it's easy to clean the small filters in it. If you vacuum it at night with a light shining near it it doesn't put out a lot of dust so you know that it's sealed very well. Overall an excellent vacuum for someone that doesn't want to drag a cord around their house and it is quiet. And excellent vacuum for a motorhome or travel trailer. It would be five stars if it had a 6 amp hour battery instead of a 4 amp hour battery
