Works great. Wonderful for storing

Some years back I was a beautiful collapsible colander with polished steel handle/ring and red silicon basket. It was wonderfully made, and lovely to look at. And, it was terrible. See, they forgot one important detail. Feet. The thing sat flush on the surface. So, not only are the bottom drain holes rendered mostly useless, but whatever the heck might be in your sink gets to mix with your food as you empty your pasta or rinse your salad.This might not be as beautiful, but it's a fraction of the cost and it works well. It's heavy and wide enough that it won't tilt over, and the holes are well designed and placed. It's solidly constructed, cleans in a snap and folds relatively flat - though it could be flatter. The hard plastic insert at the bottom along with the feet add a bit of depth, but it still folds flat enough to toss into a drawer and share the space with other utensils.Pros:- inexpensive- good shape- solid- durable- stable- compact- folds easily- feet raise it well up- drains well- cleans easilyCons:- more attractive color than gray would be nice- not super shallow when foldedThe gray isn't exactly the nicest color I suppose, but honestly it's not something I put on display (the polished steel looked great hanging) or sit and admire. I've been on an Amazon losing streak lately, it's nice to buy something that does everything it should and more. There's no shortage of similar products, that's certain. But, if you want to stop looking now, you can't go wrong. A solid 4.5 stars rounded up.

The collapsing strainer was perfect for our small kitchen

This strainer is obviously well made and beautifully engineered. It’s a great strainer...HOWEVER,There are two huge problems with this kitchen utensil:1. The darn thing is too large in diameter! Sure, it collapses down, but if you’re like me, I nest my mixing bowls and strainers. This thing takes up 2/3 of a very large drawer front to back. There’s no room for anything else betwee the strainer and the front of the drawer. And, if you collapse it and put it on top of other bowls, etc, it prevents nesting other bowls and strainers. It’s a storage hog!!!2. Love the slanted holes in the strainer. But, if I’m making mac and cheese for the grandkids (which I do frequently) the holes are large enough that the elbows slip right through the holes! Elbow and other pasta types like, orecchiette, slip right through the holes. I have to use a wire mesh strainer instead for straining the oil from canned tuna and other finely chopped foods.This a quality product with an unfortunate fatal flaw. I now use it very rarely, and only with larger items. This means I need TWO strainers where one used to be sufficient. I saved the packaging; maybe I can re-gift it. kidding, of course.

I needed a large colander to strain pasta but I don’t have a lot of room to store it. This is the perfect solution!

Easy to store and a great size

What a great product! It replaced a stainless steel colander and is a significant improvement. If you dumped a boiling pot of spaghetti in the steel colander, it was too hot to pick up. Not a problem with Vremi’s colander. And, you get the added benefit of it's collapsibility which saves you storage space. Strongly recommend this product!

Nice colander for fruits and veggies that saves room in cupboard. Was looking for a large one and this one is ok though still looking for a bit larger one.Only gave three stars because used it last I night for pasta and realized holes are too big and lost pasta down the drain as they slid out of holes. It may depend on type of pasta being strained but didn’t want to have two separate ones but one for everything.

Good and sturdy, won't collapse during use.
