Top veg knife
I had a brilliant little kitchen devils paring knife for 30 odd years which I used daily. It disappeared about 5 years ago and I've been bereft since. I have searched for a similar knife ever since. I've bought at least 10 paring knives in that time including some kitchen devils which have been a complete waste of money and sit at the back of the drawer, only useful for opening boxes. When I saw this taylors eye witness 8cm vegetable knife I thought it looked very like my old knife and despite it's fairly hefty price tag I had to try it. Actually it is the perfect vegetable knife, I'm so pleased with it. Nice weight and balance, very sharp and sturdy and looks good. Absolutely delighted, my search is over. Will buy another because I'm so afraid this one will go walkies as well.

Great vegetable knife
I love this vegetable knife. It’s a great shape with a good weight and has a nice sharp blade. Perfect for the job. This knife is better than the one I have in an expensive set and I recommend it.

Proper kitchen knife!
Bought this to replace a similar knife worn down by decades of use. Thinking of replacing others in our knife rack from this range.

Great feel, nice grip, weight just right. It is a little expensive but seems worth it

Excellent small knife - get one.
I like knives. I have about a dozen in the kitchen here, and about the same in the holiday house we were letting. They range from small paring knives, through filleting, boning, Japanese single sided and others. One of my favourites is an old (20 years?) Taylors eye witness 'kitchen devil' with the shortest blade I have ever used. (Note, modern kitchen devils are quite different. I have one, and its OK, but nothing like as good as this old one). It is my go-to knife for working with veg - to remove eyes from potatoes, or the insides of peppers, or anything where hand-held manipulation of the knife and the subject is required. It goes in the dishwasher, gets used almost every day, and so easily passes any test of longevityI wanted another, for the holiday house, so I bought this one. The model has changed name and is about 1 cm longer now, but it is just as good - if not better- than my original. It arrived VERY sharp, and yes, the first time I used it I cut myself with it! The blade is just as stiff as the older version (which is what makes it such a good kitchen tool) and I am now used to the slightly longer length. In fact, I have swapped them over and the new one is now in my regular kitchen. I am certain that this one will last just as long as the old one, and have no hesitation is recommending this as an essential tool in anyone's kitchen.

Not bad, but not good either
If you buy this knife you won't be disappointed. You won't be pleased either. Sharp(ish). Looks quite nice. Thin(ish). Generally OK.Given the ease of returning things with Amazon I'd suggest buying the Gustav Emil and the Victorinox pairing knives at the same time as this one. You'll find that's it's a coin between the Gustav Emil and the Victorinox. The Taylor's pairing knife will definitively be going back.
