Has a learning curve, but awesome once you master it
I used this to drywall an entire bathroom and I think it's a great tool. For many years, I've driven drywall screws with impact drivers but this thing totally changes the game. So why would anyone buy this instead of just using a drill or impact gun with drywall screw setter bit? For one, it has 4 modes:- Squeeze trigger and it spins on low speed- Squeeze trigger and it spins on high speed- Motor runs all the time, you load the screw and push it on- Motor only activates when you press the driver on the wall (my favorite mode)I'll tell you why it's a game changer. The mode where you just press the tip of the tool on the drywall and it auto drives the screw is a useful feature when you're drywalling a corner area and you're not in a position to press the button on a regular driver. Plus this thing is smaller than most impact driver that it's easier to fit on tight spaces. Also, the impact driver tends to rattle out the drywall, causing bits and pieces of it to fall off the sheet. A screw setter is nice and does the job in a pinch, but you're still driving the screw with an impact gun and have to pull the trigger each time. It also doesn't give you the ability to fine tune the depth of the dimple. The tool does have a learning curve to it, which only took me an hour of drywalling to get used to. I used it for an entire day of drywalling and I tried to go back to using an impact and couldn't do it. The impact gun is a "brute force" tool and this is more a "finesse" tool. If you're gonna do 1 small drywall job, I'd say get the screw setter, but if you're going to do at least 1 room, this is worth buying. It drives the screws perfectly everytime and doesn't beat up the drywall.

The transition slowly continues
I have been a stick-in-the-mud corded-tool guy for so long it takes a lot to get me to buy a battery-operated tool. And then I got an F-150 hybrid pickup that has a 7.2 kwh generator built in that allows me to run power cords just about anywhere I can get the pickup.Add in that most of my first battery-operated tools Bosch with the old batteries that didn't last all that long and were expensive in spite of that. And then I switched to Makita, which makes good tools but has a much harder time making good batteries, and I have continued using corded tools whenever possible. But a while back I bought my wife a battery-operated Dewalt drill and impact driver set for her car restoration and rental-house repairs that she has really liked and has had no problems with. When it comes to sheetrock work I wore out a corded Makita drywall screw gun, and that was followed by a Milwaukee, which I find kind of heavy, especially after breaking my back and wrist. I have been looking for the lightest tools possible, especially when working over my head. And cords can get fairly annoying and cumbersome working up high.So I saw this tool available, and my wife has lots of extra Dewalt batteries available, since this comes with a fairly small 1.7Ah, I decided what could it hurt to try. One of my favorite tests is to shoot screws into very aged and hardened studs, which I just happen to have available.Took me a few tries to get the driver set to the desired screw depth, but once set I have to say this thing is really smooth. Way better than my corded ones. And even into harder wood it really didn't seem to be working hard. I found it hard to believe the screws were fully seated it all happened so fast. And each screw went in the same distance. On a typical wall each stud likely will have a different hardness and density, so there could be some variation as to the effort needed to drive the screw, but for the row I did I have no doubt this is what I will be using in the future. I am sure they went with the 1.7 battery for offering a set with a battery, even if it might not be the best battery for the outfit. In terms of balance, I stuck on a 3.0Ah and found it to be more to my liking, and obviously will last longer between charges. I was not impressed with the charger that came with this outfit and will take one of my wife's to use. She has two doubles and shouldn't miss one of them. But with the farmhouse remodel chugging right along it shouldn't be long before sheetrock starts going up, and while I will bring a corded one along just in case, my intention is to stick with using this tool exclusively. Feels great in my hand and it does come with a toolbelt hook as well, and a carrying bag. Not ultra cheap, but really smooth and nice. Almost effortless.

Labor and wall saver
If doing more just just a few sheets, this tool is a must have. Still a pain to load individual screws but, better than using regular driver and setting deeper than needed and ripping paper. Just make sure you’re straight and works great. Light is very bright and tool is comfortable in my hand. Battery last plenty long enough.
