So darn functional (and thin) that it triumphs over its homely appearance. Great watch.
PROS: Thin, light, surprisingly rugged, inexpensive, with very legible numbers, day/date, and a very useful alarm. This watch is just superb at what a watch needs to do. I own many other watches, including some very expensive ones. But this thin, little Casio is the one I wear daily and the one that always accompanies my travels. The alarm function is great. The night-light is great. I can see the numbers easily even without my glasses. Honestly, if I could only have one watch, and Casio charged $100 for this thing, I would still buy it.Each year I try another luxury watch or more sporty-looking watch because I enjoy time-pieces. But here's what I've found: 1. Automatic watches, even super-premium brands, have not worked for me. They conk out unless I wear them constantly. YMMV. 2. Big heavy watches interfere with wetsuits I wear sailing/diving and leathers I wear motorcycling (by contrast the thin Casio glides under the cuffs). 3. Fancy dress watches are useless at night both outdoors and in dark hotel rooms. The Casio's night-glow illumination is a big deal -- very useful. 4. On business trips I use the Casio's alarm all the time. 5. The stop-watch function isn't that important, but it's nice to have when timing events, or client calls. As for durability, my nephew, a dive-master, used one of these as a back-up watch. It outlasted his Suunto and his Seiko Black Monster, both of which broke from impact damage to their faces. This little Casio is so compact and slim, you don't tend to smash it on things.CONS: I wish I could say the Casio is pretty. It's not. And I wish the buttons were a little more resistant to being pushed. The band won't last forever -- but I've gotten over five YEARS of use from a FE10-1A.SUMMARY: This is not male jewelry. It is just a phenomenally functional time-piece that does what a utilitarian watch should do. I recommend this watch to any outdoor sports person and to any traveler. To conclude, I must say this is not a watch to feed ones ego. It won't impress chicks nor wow your buddies. But if you're willing to elect function over form, this is truly a "thinking mans watch". Buy one, knowing you can still slip on your Rolex when you need to impress ladies or "make a statement" in a business encounter.

The thin, light-weight and most comfortable Casio watch to wear
I have owned about 5 or 6 of this same watch for many years. It's so thin and light-way that I wear it all day long without noticing it. The band is very thin and comfortable but easy to break in about 2 to 3 years. So, expect to replace it in about 2 to 3 years due to this band issue. That is the price to pay for the thinness and comfortable. This watch is accurate and has basic functions such as alarm and timer. It is water-resistent that I have washed it for several times without any issue. It has a back-light to make the time visible during the dark nights. It does not have the auto-calendar though. So, you need to adjust one day in Feburary during the leap year. If you are looking for a thin, light-way, comfortable and affordable watch, you definitely want to consider this.

Decent enough watch
I use this watch for sports, working out, and casual wear. Here are some thoughts after using it moderately (3-4 times a week) for about a month.Pros:-Light and slim; unobtrusive and adds to just about any outfit-The rubber band and its light weight make it comfortable and enjoyable to wear-The price allows me to wear this just about anywhere and not have to worry about dinging it-Controls are easy to set up-Keeps time accurately; ironic that I feel like this is a pro, but I've owned other cheap watches that would be off by a bit after a weekCons:-Cheap band: The band is already showing signs of wear; mainly watermarks that will not come out (I've worn it in slight drizzle weather). All in all, it's an awesome low cost watch for everyday usage in casual environments. I would try to avoid banging, or even scratching, it against hard surface as mine already has a chip in the body (from I don't know what) and it's pretty noticeable.

Great low cost 2 year watch!
Ordered this watch 2 years ago because it's low cost, water resistant, and has big numbers that have time and date without having to push any buttons. I used to only wear Ironman watches so I was afraid that, as a man, I wouldn't like how thin and small this watch is but it's actually nice that it doesn't get caught on anything. I also like that it lights up the numbers on the face when you push the light button instead of lighting up the actual face. That feature makes the numbers easier to see at night for me. Another feature that makes it easier to read from most any angle and light condition is that the background on the face is bright and the numbers are black instead of vice-versa like most digital watches out there.I'm a little weird in that I wear a watch constantly...in bed, in the shower, swimming...literally constantly. The only time I take it off is to let my wrist breathe a few minutes and get a little sun on it, or to wear a nicer watch for nicer clothes which is almost never. My old Ironman watches would cost $25-50 and would generally last 1-2 years and would have scratches all over the face by the time the band broke, or battery died, or whatever reason I felt like I needed a new one. This watch lasted two years, no battery replacement, no real visible scratches, and was working just fine. The band finally broke at just under 2 years like a lot of other reviews have stated. As of 1/24/18, you can get a replacement band for $10, or just get a brand new watch for $15 (same price as 2 years ago!!!). I opted for the brand new watch on prime since it looked like the band exchange could be tedious. The new watch (just like 2 years ago) was delivered on time and securely packaged. In the picture the new watch is on the left, the 2 year old constantly worn broken band watch is on the right. Not much difference other than a broken band.

Great Watch
This is the third of these watches that I have bought in the last 10 years. I love its design and clarity - the light feature is so useful. The functions work well and are also easy to use. The only reason this is my third one is that the strap breaks (eventually) next to the hole most used. That's not a criticism - just an observation. It's slim and doesn't get in the way of shirt or jacket cuffs. I have five or six other watches which are a lot more expensive (and stylish) but this is the one I use for everyday and then I don't have to worry about wrecking it at this price point. Don't know what I shall do when one day they withdraw this model!! Perhaps I should buy a few more now and have them ready for the future!

Great little watch
Practical, comfortable, easy to read, has alarm, stopwatch for those who need one, alarm. There is another model with the same dimensions and features but an analogue face which is better looking but you cant get it anymore.
