This is a great book for many reasons--It is useful for teaching simple prediction, it is repetitive for interactive read aloud purposes, it rhymes and has a couple new vocabulary words you can teach, but my favorite use is drama--children can take on the rolls of the character in the story or recreate the story using blocks and farm animals! This was perfect for three year olds!

Adorable but small
Such a great book to use as a set induction to a sink or float activity in the classroom! My students loved pretending they were the different animals! I just wish the book was larger but the font is big!

Sinking and Floating
Who Sank the Boat? Is a classic science who-done-it for young learners. This is a fun, and fairly silly, introduction to sinking and floating that has been a hit in my classroom year after year!

Five Stars
My students loved predicting if the boat sank, every time an animal sat into it. Funny book.

great for year 1 science
This is a great little story about mass, floating and sinking. I used this to tie in with my year 1 science topic on floating and sinking. We talked about why the tiny mouse would sink the boat and we looked at the way the animals positioned themselves into the boat as to how and why the boat might have sank. Lots of things to talk about and nice pictures and simple text. It also makes a good and funny little story.
