Pros: Good price, good looking once installed in dashboard (Jetta 2007). GPS works fine, Navigation works (Maps are way out of date), Radio sound is better than the original VW radio. Having the wire harness for VW cars another pro!!!!Cons: No installation guide (found ways to install via YouTube and reviews on a similar radio in Amazon). Poor FM reception (so far). Rear view camera installation still incomplete because of no install instructions. Radio will not shut off when car is shut off (must press on/off button to turn radio off). No illumination in side buttons on unit. Unit is too bright, even with brightness setting as lower as possible. Bluetooth does not connect on iOS but only on Android.So far manufacturer has not contacted me back with any information on these issues. I will update this review once I get information back from themAnyone can provide installation instructions for the rear view camera on a vw jetta mk5 (2007)? also issues with button illumination anyone?

I waited several days to write this review until I knew how this stereo really worked.2 stars because it does work, for the most part.Upon initial preliminary install in my 2012 Volkswagen GTI, I was amaized by the fit, finish and function. The steering wheel controls work, radio kind of works, and DVD/ CD player works.I had noticed the ignition did not turn off the stereo, so I turned it off manually. 2 days later, battery dead. USB works for iPod use. That interface is cool, but needs to be reconnected every time stereo is turned on.Fixes.... for the most part:Found on YouTube that the Canbus power wire (red) should be disconnected and that should keep the stereo from draining the battery while the car is off. I found that the wiring harness had to be modified to allow switched power from the car, so the stereo shuts off with ignition. Steering wheel controls still work. Radio kind of works. Never found a fix for iPod connection issue. SD card stuck in slot so it can’t be removed, but you can “record” CD’s onto it. Bluetooth seems to work pretty well for phone and music play, but center display in car no longer shows music info for any file type. GPS causes stereo to reset after 5 minutes of use. But, I’ll probably still keep it. I purchased this for the sub woofer out, as well as USB ins. It definitely sounds better than the factory stereo. So I will use what works and ignore what doesn’t.

Update below.Ok, I got this for my 2012 Jetta that is a pretty basic model with no steering wheel controls and it looks like the radio has some features that is able to provide that my old radio or my car did not like the water temperature, door warning and which door is open, mpg and so forth which is super cool since I did not have this options before, the bad is like some other reviews I seen here there is no instructions and I am having the same problem that it doesn’t turn off with the ignition key and need to manually turn it off, I’m not an expert on electrical but I know enough to where I am honk I should be able to fix this but I should not have to deal with this considering is “plug and play” the other “bad” is that all information comes on European measurements like fuel is on liters, speed is on kilometers and I think you get the idea, so far no luck on finding a way to switch this to English metrics.Anyways I am more impressed than I thought I would be but little things here and there that for someone with no electrical knowledge will find difficult to fix.I received an email from the vendor this morning, he sent me instructions on how to fix my issues and also the wiring diagram which made it so much easier to get it done, change to 5 stars because communication is key in good customer service.

See my photo attached. I installed on a 2013 Jetta, so yours may be different. Radio works great. Like a few other reviewers, my car battery died after about 2 days. This was my fault. The seller did send me an email (without me asking! Thank you!) that explained exactly what went wrong. Check your email! If you have canbus plugged in, you MUST unplug the other small plug that has two wires running to it. If you don't, your radio will stay on, even when the key is removed from the ignition, draining your battery. You can press the sleep button on the top right and would appear off, but your radio is still ON, pulling power. I fixed my mistake in about 20 minutes and it worked great. 4 stars only because I don't think I can switch from metric to imperial, but this only affects the car info screen, a useful feature to have regardless.

Installed in a 2013 jetta. The can bus works with it. Everything seems to work fine. Dims automatically when you turn lights on, can change color of side buttons any color you want. Only thing i didnt get to set up is the backup camera. Other than that, took less than an hour to install. Only i dont like is you cant change the time from 24 hour to 12 hour, and cant change temp from celcius to fahrenheit, or speed from kilometers to miles. Other than that i was very impressed. Radio antenna sounds great, overall sounds better than stock!

I bought this for my boyfriend. He loves it and said I should give five stars. Very easy to install.

I put this radio in a few months ago, nothing else. For the first month there was nothing wrong, but now if I leave my car sitting for a day it dies. My fiance is a tech and has tried everything to make this work but it won't.

It works. Too much work to install all features. The FM reception sucks!
