Been using set for awhile now. Everything in set is nice. Bought another set for a fishing buddy

I fish a good bit and my kids come along sometimes too.They don't like grabbing the fish to remove the hook. Plus sometimes, even I, can have trouble getting a hook out.This is a fine kit to remedy both those issues. Plus you get some connecting/retracting options, scissors, a holster, and even a measuring tape.Here's my grading on each:Fish Grip is an B. Sort of hard to get unlocked and used to under "duress" for my kids after catching a fish. These are young teens, not toddlers.Fish Pliers are a A-. Nice, good color, easy to find. A little bigger than I like to carry. Fine, relatively standard quality. I like mine spring loaded, which these are.Scissors are an A. Plastic and small, but sharp. Nice to add to a vest for quick clips using the retractor.Retractor and bungie connector are a B. Work fine, standard quality, not sure where the bungie will work best..Measuring Tape is a C. Nothing special but large enough to give you a measurement. Likely won't last long.So there you have it. Probably a B or B+ in total for the kit as a whole.

This is a very nice set of fishing tools. These have a long point on them and will be much easier to use to remove hooks than the shorter set of pliers that I was using. I fish in a kayak so having a lanyard to attach them to the kayak is necessary and the lanyard provided works well, stretches as needed and appears to be well built.The scissors are small and perfectly sized for trimming line which is all that is needed while fishing. They come with a retractor so that I was able to attach them to my kayak. The lip gripper works well and comes in handy for grabbing a fish when necessary.The reason I gave these four stars and not five is because the pliers do not lock in a closed position unless they are inserted into the holster. I have them attached to my kayak using the lanyard so the holster is not needed and I wish that they were not always in the open position. The fish gripper comes with a wrist lanyard but I would prefer to have them attached to the kayak like the scissors and pliers. The hole on the fish gripper is as wide as the handle so I was not able to add a spare lanyard to attach the fish gripper to my kayak without first adding a key chain ring to it.The tools are well made and I'm already getting good use out of them.

I do lots of fishing and always need basic tools to keep with me. I don't use the tape, and rarely use the fish lip gripper. The plyers on the other hand have become one of my favorites. Their handles are more comfortable and easier to grip being plastic and rubber. The PTFE coated carbon steel doesn't appear to be rusting yet. The scissors are sharp enough to cut through 85# braid. They are a little small for my fingers like normal but work very well. I attach both to the fairly well-built sheath and put it in my kayaks compartment. The lip grips I don't use a lot. They feel sturdy enough, but seem a little troubling to unlock. Over all, I have spent the same amount of money on just pliers making the rest free. I really like this set, and recommend it to all.

Great set of tools for fishing. The pliers work great and are spring-loaded to keep the jaws open, it makes them very easy to use with one hand when removing hooks. They’re long and thin enough to get to the deep set hooks.The fish gripper works really well and comes in super handy for handling northern pike or other toothy fish. I haven’t had much use for the scissors yet, but I’m sure they’ll come in handy, too.I wish the adhesive ruler was longer than 24”, 36” would have a lot been better, but it works fine for bass. A bit short for walleye or northern pike.

These might be designed for saltwater fishing, but I have uses them for my freshwater fishing and they work great. They are sturdily made and easy to grip. Pliers come with a case and the snips are attached to a retractable cord you can hook to your belt. I used the fish-lip-grabber on a big catfish my wife caught and it let her hold the fish securely so I could take a picture of her and her catch. These are very functional and useful fishing tools that would make a great gift.

This is great kit for fishing or at least looking like you know how to fish. The pliers have enough length to remove those hooks the fish try to swallow and enough strength to bend, straighten, or crimp any tackle that needs it. The lip gripper comes in handy for those toothy fish that are a bit upset with you for jerking them out of the water. Oh, and the tape measure will make you feel like you are on an episode of Wicked Tuna measuring a 10' monster. For those of you that use braid and can never find those special scissors for cutting braid, only to mess up your teeth and line trying to bite through it, this kit not only comes with the scissors, but a lanyard or retractable leash to help keep track of them. All kidding aside, this is a pretty sweet set up. The only thing I would change is to add a lock on the pliers for the option to keep them closed if you are not using the included holster. Definitely recommend this kit, just don't go switching all of your gear to match the cool green color.
