Won't fit with custom grips
If you have custom grips, then you have to make it happen. I removed the plastic ring which would not slide over the custom grip, and kept the metal ring and just used one of the spacers and that's it. Works okay that way.

May need to modify
Seems to be of OK quality. Would not fit my grips on my Sportster. I had to take the plastic doughnut put it into my lathe and turn it up on the inside to go over my grips, and reshape the inner ring to fit over the thumb-stop of the grip. (I also had to cut the bolts shorter, but things like that are to be expected.) It seems to be working now.

Junk
The inner retention ring is hard plastic, the outer housing is hard plastic. The set screws are metal. The inner retention ring just slides around and eventually pops out of the housing no matter how evenly you tighten the set screws. It’s like rubbing 2 ice cubes together. Slicker than snot.

Great hand saver!
I had one of these on a previous bike and loved it. However on my current bike it would not fit with my grips. A few months ago the rubber on my Avon grips was wearing out and getting gross as it was holding onto all the oils and grease and dirt from my hands, so I replaced them. I got this throttle lock, to get it to fit I had to modify it by dremelling out the inside a bit to increase the radius, but it didn't take much and once I could get it around the grip it fit great. Because of the mounting style the actual throttle lock is up pretty high in a weird position and partially blocks easy access to the buttons, but it doesn't take long to get used to that. This is great for resting your hand and arm on long trips, or even in town just to be able to do something quick with your right hand. I still wish I had an actual cruise control, but this is the next best thing, and much better than the flower screw my Harley came with from factory.

Just go with another one
It seems to work. There is NO WAY this would fit a 1 3/4" grip. Took forever to get it on 1 1/14" grip. There are other inexpensive ones, use them.

You might need to modify this one.
I made this purchase for obvious reasons; my HD doesn't have cruise control and for those longer rides it was apparent I needed to do something. The concept is good, but the installation was challenging. I have custom grips and had to modify the opening to fit over the grips per the installation instructions. If you're not willing or capable of completing this task, you might want to consider other options.

A bit tricky
Good throttle lock however it is needing a spacer that don't come with it so fyi if you buy this figure out a spacer works of difference hopefully the manufacturer or the seller see this and include a spacer. Easy to use a bit awkward to install but it works.
