The key is very large (bigger than a normal size house key) and of heavy weight. The chain is very shiny and does not match the finish of the key, which I do not like. I think this would be better suited as a large keychain charm because it looks gaudy as a necklace and is very heavy. For the price, it’s just too much for me to turn into a keychain decoration. I will be returning.I did not test the whistle, so I don’t know how loud it is or if it even works.

I got this as I've always enjoyed a large skeleton key on rope chain necklace - I usually cycle through one every few years but usually gather materials to just DIY it. I got this because I've always liked 1928 and was impatient.The whistle really isn't an emergency whistle. If it's your selling point, turn elsewhere. If you could imagine a whistle having a hoarse voice - that's how loud this one is.When I was unpackaging it, the jump ring at the back came off immediately, which was a bit surprising but I have pliers to pop it back on. It is what I would consider fragile at all connecting points in terms of comparing the strength of the jump rings to the heft of the metal, so just mind yourself bending over around tables etc.The key is a good weight, which I expected and prefer in jewelry but if you like lighter jewelry this would not be for you. I hate to say, it just doesn't really look worth what it costs. When another reviewer mentions it should be a keychain, that actually is what it reminds me of, and the chain is a shade off of the key. If this was a diy like I normally would do I'd expect that but for a product that is 36 on sale, 42 normally, that's a bit silly. I don't have any intention to return it as it satisfies my personal need (and I'm lazy so) but I can't see this satisfying someone looking to accessorize an outfit, wanting a legitimate whistle, or wanting what feels like a quality fine product.If you're just a post emo/scene kid and want a skeleton key necklace because it brings joy to you, and don't mind the price - yeah, this could be for you. It satisfies the nostalgia. I just normally expect better quality from 1928.I want to follow up on this in a few months regarding wear and tear because I would say if it doesn't hold up/turns green - not worth even 10 bucks.

This was a nice find, it is pretty and works perfectly as a safety whistle or whatever you need a whistle for. The whistle pendant was larger than expected, which was a plus. But not large enough to make it gaudy. I was skeptical about the purchase, a previous review mentioned the pendant may not match the chain. I didn't have that issue at all, both match nicely. Although the 30" chain gives it a nice hang, I would have preferred the option to buy a longer chain. Still doesn't affect my 5 star rating of this item.

Not for everyone. The piece is substantial, and I wear it daily as I trained my dogs to come from a distance when I blow the whistle in my fenced yard - they come to the whistle when my voice isn't loud enough. I'm a professional dog trainer in southwest Florida, and frankly, this is the type of whistle for dogs. It's not loud enough for people to hear from a distance, that's for sure. But it is a beautiful key and pendant and the chain rocks, too. Works for me!

I love this necklace! I was looking for a whistle necklace for dog training (I can’t whistle) and I came across this one. So glad I did, it’s great quality for the material and price, chain is very strong and detailing is as beautiful as the picture. The whistle is completely functional, and both sides of the necklace are engraved so you can turn it over and hide the whistle hole. I’ll update once I’ve had it longer to see how it holds up but at this point very happy with this purchase!

The pendant and chain have a nice vintage look. Not cheaply made. Whistle actually works. Both sides of the "key" are the same, so you can put the hole-side toward you if desired. The only fault I found is that the chain is 28" instead of what was described or shown on the model image.

Great design and very giftable. Great value for the money. Only thing is I was looking for a louder whistle to alert if in danger. This has a sharper sound that I think gets the dogs attention more than people’s.

Was a gift for Christmas. Chain broke in the same day. Cheep product! Not worth the money!
