Looks brilliant! Quality! But…..
Received my item today(DHL). As you can see from the images it looks amazing and well built, appears to be of good quality. Well chuffed with it. Sadly it arrived damaged as seen in one of the attached images. A crack running all the way through the piece of wood at the front, where the entrance is located. Really disappointing to see this as I was busy unboxing it. At present I’ve sent an email to the supplier to see what can be done. Hopefully I’ll have a reply soon. In my opinion the box it arrived in requires some additional packaging materials so that it can’t move around within. To be continued…Had a prompt reply from supplier(Jade). Good communication. Suggested I return the item or offered a replacement part/section be sent out to me to remedy the issue I opted for the latter. Had notification from DPD and I should have the new arch section soon. Brilliant! Initially rated this review a 3 star but have now upgraded it to a 5 star.

very well made hedgehog house.
I thought long and hard before buying this hedgehog house because of the price, However, it is worth every penny! I have had cheaper houses in the past which just do not last and are often not totally waterproof. Finding my previous house soaking wet inside after several days of heavy rain, and a dead hedgehog, I threw it out. I did not expect to have another hedgehog inside until the Spring, but the mild weather obviously brought one out of hibernation and it is now happily in my new house. The house is so well made and looks amazing. Well worth the money. A real craftsman item! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this purchase.

Good sturdy house
Hopefully will get some hedgehogs sleeping in there! The only thing is, it arrived with damaged on two of the corners, nothing major but it’s still quite a bit of money so expect it to be in good condition

Perfect - solid and waterproof
I often end up overwintering baby hedgehogs each year, so when they get to the right weight they can still hibernate outside, so I need a suitable overwintering house to put my big babies in! All my other hedgehog houses were already occupied by other wild independent big hedgies this year, so needed something extra. This house is by far the very best house I have bought (and we have quite a selection bought over the years). The tunnel allows for any damp and wind to blow in but the compartment for sleeping is separated from the entrance tunnel which means the rain or wind can get in. There is plenty of room for bedding (leaves) and a mother hedgehog could easily have her babies in it. Fully waterproof with strong plastic (recycled plastic?) lid in black so it doesn't stand out in the garden. Perfect!

Very in-demand by the hogs!
This was an expensive purchase for me, but really glad I went for it. Currently in demand by 3 different hogs of different sizes - wish I had more houses so they could have one each, feel sorry for the smallest one who spent days dragging leaves etc inside to finish off his cosy winter house, but has now been ousted by a bigger one - he looked so sad and lost on the video, poor little thing :(. Definitely one to consider buying again in the future - good quality, well designed and constructed, very nice.

Brilliant - cat and dog-proof - worth every penny.
I found 2 baby hedgehogs abandoned in my garden, and after getting them checked out and fattening them up for a couple of weeks I released them into my garden yesterday, placing them in this house under some bushes. After a full night of adventuring they returned straight to their house and are both snoozing in there as I type. My cats and dogs can't get at food placed inside so I can still feed them a little for a while - it is warm, cosy and is raised slightly off the ground, so it keeps them dry too. The roof is easy to lift to have a peek and add food/dry bedding - this is the perfect rehab home for the hoglets and has plenty of space for them both.

Happy buyer and happy hedgehog!
The media could not be loaded. Just before UK lockdown mid-March, I noticed two hedgehogs were back in our garden and eating all the food put out each night. I realised that they could be living in my next door neighbour’s garden. She often uses a strimmer and likes her garden preened, so I was concerned that their nest may get destroyed at some point.I searched on here for a suitable hedgehog house and was weighing up this one and one that was slightly cheaper around (£45). Due to the exceptional reviews, I purchased this one and I’m so glad I did.Within 5 days, one of the big hedgehogs moved in (could be pregnant). I recommend putting the house near to a fence in a Southerly direction (avoiding North/North East winds). This stops the bitter cold winds come Autumn/Winter, making it more likely that your hog will use the house for hibernation. I also put it against the fence as we have a few curious cats in the area. I lined the house with newspaper and covered the floor in hay. Next to the house, I dumped a pile of hay as I think hedgehogs like to make their own nest. My hedgehog has been in its home but around two weeks now and it’s still making itself comfy with the hay (see video). Unfortunately the other hog has disappeared and hasn’t been seen for a while. It hasn’t really rained yet so I can’t comment how durable this house is. I was a little concerned about the roof at first as I was conscious that when it does rain the water may lay flat on top. I did read some comments to put the house on a stand to avoid the wood rotting so i cut up some wooden blocks and used these. Seems to work so far. Just to note, the house had a slight sharp edging so watch when getting it out of the packaging. It’s a very sturdy box and well made. To say the hedgehog moved in near enough straight away just goes to show that the house ticks all the boxes. I’m tempted to buy another one to use as a feeding station. It’s been so fascinating watching this little hedgehog making itself at home in my garden. I feel like hedgehogs face many dangers, like cars, mowers, strimmers, slug pellets, weed killer, that it’s just nice knowing that you’re doing something good for wildlife. This hedgehog house is definitely 5 stars and it’s living the life of luxury! Might have to start charging rent soon. Thanks!
