Tough, durable, waterproof, and holds a ton of stuff for the bike commuter, hiker, and air traveler
This is one of the best bike-related products I have ever owned. While designed for the bike commuter who doesn't want to deal with strapping/unstrapping stuff to a rack, this backpack is also an excellent hiking day pack and air travel carry-on / "personal item."I ditched my car in 2011 and have been commuting and traveling mostly by bike ever since. I needed a way to tote my stuff around and pick up groceries, etc. I bought this backpack in 2012 and it has seen pretty much daily use ever since. It is still strong with no stitching failures or zipper failures. Straps are still good.I have the large size and it holds everything I need. Laptop, groceries, bike tools and spare tubes, clothes, and lots more. There are no sub-compartments in the huge main storage compartment so you have total flexibility on how you can pack stuff in. There are decent-sized open pouches on each side of the pack for water bottles or other items you may want to access while riding. There are several smaller pockets and compartments on the outside similar to other packs and a loop for a blinky.Waterproof main compartment is very waterproof.I've also used this as a hiking day pack and whenever I fly (which is rare nowadays), I use this as my carry-on.We recently had some pipes crack at the farm where I live due to some crazy cold weather. We also had snow on the ground and couldn't drive the farm truck. I had to tote water and feed up to our goats and chickens and filled this pack with 4 1-gallon jugs and a couple tupperware containers of chicken feed. No problem. Thanks Banjo Brothers!

High and dry.
UPDATE: Make sure you use the waterproof tarp lining that comes with it. For me it has been over 6 months, and the black inner lining of the bag is getting pretty worn out, especially at the bottom of the bag. I have not been using the waterproof tarp liner that came with it, because I thought that not using it would make it easier to open. I believe that using the liner will prevent this wear from happening, and I wish I had done that from the beginning. Just keep that in mind when you're using this.----------I've had this backpack for a couple of months now, and I used it every day when I was working for Jimmy John's as a delivery courier in Seattle, Washington (rainy!). This backpack is amazing. I'll try to go over all of the features.Main compartment: MASSIVE. And when it's not all the way full, the bag can be easily cinched down to be more flush with your body. There are no other pockets inside the main compartment, its just a simple, big container. Completely water resistant with drainage grommets at the bottom. It also comes with a removable plastic liner if you want the bag to be totally water proof. Without the liner, the bag was able to fully protect paper sandwich bags in surprise Seattle cloudbursts.Outside pockets: One velcro pouch; I use it to carry my keys, bike lights, bike computer, etc. 2 pen pouches, and one slightly bigger pen pouch. One big zipper pouch that you can use to carry things that you need easy access to, like a wallet or sunglasses. All of these pouches are hidden underneath the flap so they will also stay dry instability.Side pockets: Huge. Big enough to fit a 1 liter nalgene water bottle with space leftover. They don't secure shut, but in all the riding I've done nothing has ever fallen out of them, even when I've fallen off my bike. They're also big enough to securely hold any U-lock.Straps: The shoulder straps are adjustable, and they come with a removable cell phone pouch which is big enough to hold any smartphone. It also has a chest strap and waist strap for extra stability.Outside flap: Simple buckle shut design, you can reach behind and undo it with one hand while its still on your back. The 2 stripes on the back are super reflective and look badass. If you're a bike commuter or a courier, I highly recommend this bag.

Best backpack for your bike commute
This is a great waterproof backpack. I use it on my 16 mile commute to work, and the other day got caught in quite a squall. It was down-pouring, so much so that I pulled over and had to take public transit back (almost no visibility and quite windy). This backpack held up great and everything was kept bone dry. I was super impressed.I also like this backpack because it is quite spacious (I got the medium) and *very* sturdy. I can fit workout clothes, work clothes (including shoes), travel bag (hair/makeup at the gym) and my breakfast and lunch. I love the reflecting tape, along with a mount for a light. The front straps are designed so that you can add more "components" -- you can wrap components (such as the cell-phone holder) around these sewn in straps as you wish. The side pockets are spacious and the smaller front pockets are nice. I don't like the "pen holder" pockets -- I'm not really carrying pens around with me on my commute, but the other pockets are good. I keep the larger zipper pocket for things like an extra tire, tire levers, small pump, small toolkit, and a patch kit.I really love this backpack. <3
